Ran across a copy of the May 2010 Motor Trend and the "Long Term Test Update" for the 2009 Genesis 4.6. They were not kind when talking about the suspension. (Not kind, but truthfull).
"the early 2009 suspension is downright wrong -- too harsh, too unforgiving. Plain and simple, it's the wrong suspension tuning for a car with the purpose of this one."
My understanding from owners of 2010's and perhaps 2011's is that the suspension is no better, at least for the 4.6 V8's.
I think the C/D comment on early 2009 suspension is fair. However, all of the 2010 and 2011 Genesis 3.8 L and 4.6 L I have driven present with suspensions _far superior_ to the early 2009 suspension. The 2010 suspensions were and the 2011 suspensions are far better in damping, suppleness, responsiveness, and comfort than the early 2009 suspensions. The 2009 Genesis suspension v. the 2011 Genesis suspension is like night and day.
*Finally, not to be forgotten in these discussions is that Hyundai responded to buyer complaints and improved the Genesis suspension for later 2009 and 2010 or 2011 buyers.* Let not the perfect be the enemy of the good.
