  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Seems that even the ridiculously wealthy can't pass up a good bargain. According to The Wall Street Journal, a seemingly amazing six percent of American Express Centurion "Black Card" holders say they have a Hyundai in their garage. The Centurion is an exclusive card only offered to the utmost wealthiest of people, with the average Black Card holder having $16.3 million in assets and an annual household income of $1.3 million.

For reference, only six percent of Centurion holders own Bentleys. By that logic, you could say that for every Continental or Mulsanne a Black Card holder owns, there's also an Equus or Genesis. Weird, right?

Not surprisingly, Black Card holders commonly flock to the usual host of luxury automakers. BMW accounts for 22 percent of Centurion automobiles, with Mercedes-Benz at 21 percent, Porsche at 15 and Lexus at 11.AmEx Black Card holders own as many Hyundais as Bentleys originally appeared on Autoblog on Mon, 11 Jul 2011 18:31:00 EST. Depends on what percentage of Black Card holders are Korean in that survey. My guess is a disproportionate number. And I wouldn't always bet that the Hyundai's they have in the garage are Genesis or Equus. They might have a BMW,etc, and also some Hyundai's for the kids, or as an SUV.

With 7% of cardholders owning an Acura, I doubt it's a worldwide list.

As mentioned elsewhere, Asians are a disproportionate percentage of AMX Black Card holders, so maybe it is global list. AMX Black card probably doesn't go over as well in the US (on a percentage basis), partly because the many of the wealthy in the US (and celebrities, corporate execs, etc) fly private jets, and the benefits of the Black Card have mainly to do with travel.

^ But that considering that Acura is only sold in China (not a big seller) and not Korea, Japan or elsewhere in Asia - how would that explain 7% of cardholders owning an Acura?

11% of cardholders own a Lexus and Lexus is offered throughout much of Asia, including the Middle East, as well as Europe and South America.
