Can't find any 2012 V8 here in Iowa. Has anyone ordered a car? How long did it take?

You can't actually "order" a car from the factory in Korea. Hyundai Motors America pre-orders all the cars based on what they think will sell and makes them available to dealers. A dealer can request allocation of a certain color/trim level and HMA will try to fullfill that request from the cars that arrive from Korea. How long it takes depends on whether there is excess demand for a certain color/trim compared to the number of that same combo pre-ordered from the factory. Dealers can also trade cars with other dealers that have already been delivered to dealer inventory.

I ordered a car before, but not a Genesis. I ordered a 99 Cobra and had to wait about 4 months for it, but Ford had stopped production on them for a while.

Typically American cars can ordered for a specific buyer from the factory. MB and BMW also allow that. I have heard that some Asian manufacturers have starting doing that for cars assembled in the USA, but not for cars imported from Asia.

it would be nice to order a specific color combo that's not available, eg silver exterior with saddle interior.
the saddle is my favorite for the genesis.
