  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just got my 18" wing wheel caps from KDM in the mail today and installed them to realize that the 18" rim is different in the 2012 compared to 2009-2011. So now it looks like a big indent since it doesn't look like it fits with the design compared to the 2009-2011 rim design.

Any suggestions on what I should do now?

** I got the less expensive wheel caps not the 160 dollar wheel caps that match the rim design perfectly **

Take a picture of one of your wheels, and we'll see what the solution is. I'm thinking you needed to purchase the 17" wheel caps for the 18" wheels. It's what I did, and they fit fine. Heck, they even fit my 19" R Spec wheels the same way the they did on the 18" V8 wheel.

Thank you for your reply Scott,

It's night time now but I will take a picture in the morning and will post it.
How would I go about doing the 17" wheel caps for my 18" wheels?

I mean it's not horrible looking but it definitely looks aftermarket and doesn't fit as smoothly.

What I meant was the center of the 17 inch wheel and 18 inch wheel and now the R Spec wheel 19 inch are all the same diameter for the center cap - wing emblem. This is why I want to see a pic of what you're speaking of, so we can figure out what's next:)

4.6 v8 18" wheels have different center than 3.8 v6 18" wheels. 2011 and 2012 4.6 v8 wheels and center caps are the same as are the v8 2010 wheels.

Here is a link to a thread that will tell you how to use 17" caps and transfer the wings to the 18" 4.6 wheel. Easy and saves lots of money.

I have the 3.8 Genesis w/ Premium not the 4.6 so I figured it would fit in smoothly and not be indented like that.

You have a 3.8 but it appears that you have the 18" wheels that come with the 4.6. You need the center caps for the 18" wheels that come with the 4.6.
You need to request the center caps for Genesis 4.6 18" wheels.

Maybe in 2012 the 3.8 18" Premium and 4.6 18" wheels are the same? My other point is that it looks like the wheels are different in 2012 (but not sure), so beware of getting the expensive caps and expecting them to match up on your 2012's.

Wrong caps of course, as I'm sure you know by now you need the ones that continue the pattern with the wheel. OR, you could just order the center of the center cap (sounds funny) for like $35 and spend 20 minutes and replace all four of them for a lot less $.

Thank you for the advise, I hope I can return these ones back to KDMStuff and purchase the other ones otherwise I'm out about 80 dollars since I paid for 20 dollar faster shipping.

I just ordered the new wheel caps that matches and also purchased the complete wing airbag since this stick on one doesn't look at luxury compared to the actual wing integrated airbag. Never knew the airbag would be so easy to install (just saw a picture tutorial on this forum) and this is why I love this forum. Very helpful!
