Hexomat odor

I took delivery of a set of Hexomats about a month ago and they still have an extreme odor. Does anyone have a solution for this? The mats fit ok but the smell is overpowering.

I can only recommend time. I bought a set of Hexomats for my '09 Genesis three years ago, and the toxic odor dissipated within a week of so. Then I bought a set this fall for my wife's new VeraCruz and we had to air them out in the garage for more than two months before my wife could tolerate them in the vehicle (fortunately we haven't had much snow or rain here lately and could afford to wait). You may be able to hasten the process by washing them; we were too lazy to try. It sure seems like Hexomat is using a more toxic material than they used to, but I love the tight fit and overall functionality of the mats, odor notwithstanding.

It took a few weeks for most of the odor to be gone and then about another few weeks for the slight lingering odor to disappear.

Are you hexomat owners pleased with the fit and finish our do you wish you went with a different product

I have had Hexomats in my last 3 cars and never experienced any odor at all. To answer Adair42, the Hexomat fit and finish are excellent, and I like the way they look. They might be a little "industrial" looking for the Avalon/Buick crowd, but they look terrific in my black/black Genesis.
