  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Blue mood lighting automatic?

My 2011 V8 has the "ring", but no mood button or blude lights.

I am taking my car in tomorrow morning for the free map upgrade and will ask about the mood lighting and why it's no longer available?

Has anyone tried to source the overhead console on the Internet?

Take a look a few post up ^ There's your example:) Also, if you don't like the white LED's, you could always change the bulbs to a different color.

This appears to be a little different. The link I provided is an OEM part from Korea (and a select few in NA). I thought about changing the bulbs, but I don't want to give up the bright white lights in case I drop something, or need to read something...

You can still have bright lights if they're not white. Just depends on the bulb and power/light output. Damn near anythings possible with LED's.

Has anyone thought about installing one of these?

I think it would look pretty sweet to have the blue on when you get in instead of the harsh whites, but I would be afraid to be the guinea pig to be honest...
I just installed this today and i'm not sure i like it. The interior lights will not go on when the doors are opened and the mood light will not go off when the ignition is turned off. You have to turn all the lights on and off manually which is a pain and you can also forget to turn them off. I didnt wait too long to see if it will go off on its own after a few minutes or not. If i notice anything else i will post it here

Re: Blue mood lighting automatic? - with pictures now.

Just put in LED lighting in mine according to your example. I also installed a keychain dimmer. It looks great! Thanks for your post!

I figured the mood lights would go on when the doors are opened and go off after x amount of time when doors are closed and/or car is turned on.
