I have done the trunk, 4 wheels, and the steering wheel. On the trunk I used a 3M product to remove the left on sticky goo from the "flying H" removal. It was a vinyl and adhesive remover. On the steering wheel I simply used alcohol, let it air dry and adhered the winged badge directly into place. I splurged and spent $127 on 4 new wheel covers that replacd the flying H ones.

What a difference......

I purchased my wing badge from www.hyundaikiatoys.com. The guy that runs it works for a Hyundai dealer and is very helpful. He does not sell the stick-on badges for the steering wheel, says that anything applied could affect the air bag deploying correctly or worse, hurt the driver - he suggests either live with the H or replace the airbag..... In regards to getting the H badge off of the trunk, I first sprayed on WD-40 and let it soak for 30 minutes, then (carefully for about 45 seconds) used a heat gun (not a hair dryer). I then used plastic coated 40lb test ice-fishing line to seperate the H from the adhesive. The H came off easy. Keep using the heat gun to get the the bulk of remaining adhesive off - it takes about 8 to 10 more minutes. I used Goof-Off to get the last bits of adhesive. Finish with car wax.

I think the key is applying sufficient heat to soften the adhesive. I did mine last summer and just left the trunk facing the mid-day sun for an hour and the emblem came off easily.

I have people gawking while on the highway trying to figure out what it is. I had a guy come in to the club that go to and asked how I could afford a Bentley. I really laughed at that one. I get more compliments about this car than anyone I have ever owned. I have owned some nice cars over the years. I buy a new one about every three years.

I've got a R Spec that the dealer rebadged. It was sitting in teh driveway one day. I see a lady walking up next to my garage thru the door window next to the garage so I go out to see what is going on. She ask me what kind of car it is as her husband said it was a Bently and she wasn't shure. They were both supprised when I told them it's a Hyundai. They said nice car and would not have beleived it was a Hyundai.

I get that comment a lot that people can't beleive it's a Hyundai. They really like the looks/styling of the car. Some ask who is Genessis as thats all the badgeing on the car and when I tell them it's a Hyundai, their jaw drops. They can't beleive it.

Here in my part of LA nobody has said a word about this car. Probably cuz so may people really do have Bentley's. They're kind of common.

HELP!

I need instructions for rebadging the steering wheel on my 2012 Genesis sedan. I bought the badge, but am unsure how to install it. I know it fastens over the existing logo, but it came with a separate glue "piece" that matches the size of the badge, as well as the regular sticky tape on the back of the badge. I'd appreciate detailed instructions on how to go about this.

I already screwed up on doing the trunk lid. I tried to follow the video instructions, but it did not work the way shown on the video. I got the H emblem off using 40 lb test fishing line, but all of the adhesive backing stayed on the car. Even copious amounts of Goo Gone and surface cleaner had no real effect. I finally resorted to using a razor blade to slice it off and wound up leaving scratches in the paint. Rats!

No, I like the Equus emblem, dealer had installed it for me. I was referring to the Genesis I had traded which I had rebadged myself.

There are several sellers on eBay that import official Hyundai KDM (Korean Domestic Market) badges and sell them.

There is no official KDM badge swap for the steering wheel (unless you replace the airbag), but there is an after-market badge (not official Hyundai part) that you can place over the H if you don't want to swap the airbag. However, you do not need to remove the H on the steering wheel (and you don't want to even try) when placing the new badge on top of it.

This is probably the best solution for those who don't want to swap the airbag, but I don't believe that it is an official KDM OEM part, just an after-market part. An OEM part means that it would be installed at the factory for at least some Genesis model made for at least one market (in this case the KDM market), and that is not the case here.

Aren't we all... I have been eligible to retire for over ten years, but a) I can't afford to, and b) I don't hate my job, and I'm not sure what I'd do with limitless free time. But it wouldn't be golf - my parents were avid golfers all their lives, but it didn't rub off on me or any of my four siblings.

Ok, a little late I am to the conversation, but from reading this thread I've decided to rebadge my Gen. I just picked it up last week and that's the only thing missing. The dealer wants way too much for the badges so I'll check eBay and Amazon. Thanks guys!

There are many old threads on how to do it on this forum, some with videos. I suspect that Ebay is better, because these are very small companies that import the KDM badges (and some other parts) from Korea to the US. By import, I mean they purchase it at Hyundai dealers in Korea, and then ship it to the US for resale.
