  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I picked up my Genesis V8 (Tech Pkg) about 4 weeks ago. One day, when I was sitting in the car with the sun shining brightly on the dash, I could see all the faint outlines of all the warning lights on the speedo (ie. trunk open, door open, etc). There was one that says "120km/h". I couldn't find this anywhere in the manual (CDN version). Has anybody else come across this? Would like to solve this little mystery.
Thanks.

If it doesn't light up when you start the car then it's not activated. It's probably something that's there to answer some other market requirement (probably Japan or Korea).

that's probably it. i spent a lot of time in asia, and would offer to pay taxi drivers more if they would drive to the airport and be able to keep the speed warning ding going the whole time. some of them thought it was rather amusing and took the challenge very serious....

The 120Km/h warning “Light or Beep” is a mandatory specification in some areas like in some Middle East countries, I have an over speed beep in my car once I exceed 120km/h and it keeps beeping till I drive below 120km/h.

The worst Over speed beep is in VW cars, it is a continuos beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep :(

Wow! Now THAT sounds VERY annoying! I wonder how long it'll be before we have that in our vehicles in America... That's FAR more annoying than having to "accept" the navigation screen warning... Holy moly!

From Hyundai service site:

"Overspeed warning in case of more than 120km/h for some of the Middle East countries."

Probably more than you wanted to know, but this file shows you much of the stuff this car is keeping track of as you drive.

My BMW has a programmable over-speed warning where you get to say at what speed it will start dinging. When you program it then forget about it months later it makes you jump when this loud "ding" goes off for no apparent reason!

I am amused by the reference to "Buglar Alarm State" in the diagram on page 5. Is this "Engrish" or am I to expect a Marine to suddenly play Reveille on my morning commute? LOL! :D
