  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I finally bit the bullet and brewed my first batch over New Years....my wife got me a full kit for Christmas. I had toyed with the idea for AGES but finally took the plunge.

Any other homebrew enthusiasts here? If so, I'd love to compare notes and talk BEER. :)

My first batch is a dirty blonde ale, presently in second fermentation. And I started a new batch as well, in primary fermentation now, a big butt-kicking strong IPA.

I'm finding that patience is indeed a virtue.

Send me a variety pack and I'll let you know my opinions on all the beers!:D I'd love the IPA I'm sure. You brew any Porter etc.?

I've been homebrewing for a little over 3 years now. Even do wine as well.

I'm taking the middle road as I use the Mr. Beer kits, Malt extract, not a full on mash brewer. But I get my hops locally and have a bigger selection than what is on the Mr. Beer website.

As for brews, I've done a lot of different varities. I've found that i don't like bitter IPA's, Pilsners and most Porters. But I've brewed just about every other type of beer and enjoy them.

Some of my best brews have been Irish Stouts, Belgian whites, and amber ales. I've really enjoyed brewing and most of the beers I've brewed.

Going to start this spring / summer. Been wanting to for along time. Got a kit also for Xmas. Should be alot f fun.

Well, we busted out the first batch on Super Bowl Sunday (in conjunction with having inaugurated my Green Bay Packers themed mancave/home theater room!)

I have to say, it was received quite favorably. It's more akin to an American pale ale than a blonde ale, but the hops gave it a slight citrusy finish.

And the second batch--the big IPA--has now been bottled and is conditioning. I tasted the unfinished product and it's so good. Just an amaazing full body taste with hoppiness and balanced with big malt.

Scott---funny you mention porter!! My newest batch is a vanilla porter, using a Hopville.com recipe that is sort of a replica of the Breckenridge Vanilla Porter (that I absolutely love). It's in primary fermentation now and I've got madagascar vanilla beans steeping in vodka now to extract the flavor which will be pitched in when I transfer to secondary ferment.

I had a guys' brewing night last Friday and had some buddies over. Whilst I'm hardly an expert (my enthusiasm is outpacing my ability) it was nice to do a demo for some guys who are now going to get into homebrewing.

Nice! I'm going to see if I can find some Breckenridge Vanilla Porter today after work. I don't think I've had it before:D

Good thing you have the 4.6 to out run the Feds!
