  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

There is no mention of the headliner being Alcantara Suede for 2012. Did this material carry over from the 2011 model year? Furthermore, I noticed that the 2012 Brochure has been greatly "cheapened" from the 2011 brochure. Strange considering the Equus was a sales success for 2011 you would think that Hyundai would sink even more money into advertising the car for 2012 to keep the sales going. imho.

Just purchased my 2012 Ultimate last week. The headliner is alcantra and is beautiful to the touch.
It is my understanding they sold about 30%+ more cars than expected. It don't think they need to throw a lot of money into marketing the car. Word of mouth from happy customers seems to be moving sales forward.

Huh. Never seen a brochure. As for cheapened, is it now on recycled paper? In black and white? How do you cheapen a brochure?

The brochure is alittle more than 1/2 the size of the 2011 with less pages. The showroom brochures now appear to be simply "mailers" in appearance. What a shame considering the Equus was a sales success in 2011.

Is the headliner still Alcantera suede for 2012?

They must have done that for people who don't like to read. For example, your question was answered above.

Well smart ass I do like to read and I will admit I did miss the second posting on this topic. A horse is a horse unless YOU are the horse's ASS!

Sales for the Equus continue to increase.

For April, Hyundai sold 351 Equus sedans while Audi sold 358 A8 and Lexus 438 LS sedans.

The A8 and LS have had more than few generations to build their model nameplates and have a large pool of Audi and Lexus owners in which to build sales (unlike the Equus).

And even w/o available AWD, the Equus is outselling the LS in Canada.

If Hyundai gets the next generation Equus right (more distinctive sheetmetal, better interior/dash, along w/ AWD), I think the Equus will make some serious headway in the flagship sedan segment (won't be up there w/ the venerable S Class, but will go head to head in sales w/ Audi and Lexus).

I don't see anything wrong with the Equus as it is for 2012. The fit and finish is excellent. I think the car is beautiful. The longer I drive it, the more I appreciate the ergonomics, quiet ride, comfort and all the gadgets.

See if the dealership will let you take one home for the weekend. You will see what I mean. A 15 minute test drive in this car is not sufficient.

Him pointing out your unwillingness to read makes him an ass? I would say that if you are pointing one finger at him, then three are pointing back at you, and rightly so.

I would also say that not much needs to change. More torque and sturdier sheetmetal are the only weakpoints, and the new motor should remedy the former.
