Hi everyone !

I got my Genesis since 2 week now and I notice something wrong.

Close to front right fender , the bumper aren't clip properly. But I'm scare that clip can't be replace if does.
Before take 2-3h to jack the car, remove wheel, remove screw, and see whats wrong, can you tell me if there is a clip there ? I can buy it before removing the bumper.

Thank you for your help !

Looks like the bumber has been hit. Was this noted at delivery inspection or have you just noticed it? This may be more than just a clip, something hidden may be broken.

Looks to me like OP bought a used 2009 model a few weeks ago.

the car was never been crash, no claim to insurance.

But that's possible. The car are still under warranty 5/60K and are bought from reseller.

Do you know if the bumper cover have loop or hook there ? If it's only a clip, I will replace it and clip it , but if the bumper are broken, that will be tough to fix it.

The 5/60K warranty does include "unclipping" ?

this may sound silly, but did you push in on it to see if it snaps back in place. I only say this as I had to have Hyundai repaint my bumper and under the headlight (not the same place obviously) I had the same issue. I pushed on it and it snapped into place. I don't know if there is a clip or a guide there for sure.

good luck

yes I tried , but no "snap" :(

I didn't see how the bumper are clip unless in the shop manual.

Warranty will not cover the damage.

Ok ok
I never use this expression i'm a french guy

I take a chance ; anyone have a picture inside bumper cover ?

Non sequitur. It is certainly possible that a minor accident happened and no insurance claim was made, due to deductibles or other reasons.

You probably right. Anyway that don't block me to use the car but that look not good

If someone have picture Will help me to choose to fix it right now or not.

Hyundai dealer parts counter personel may can help by showing you a diagram of the front bumper parts etc.

I found information on the front bumper as follow:

Log in to the web site I mentioned in my previous post
Choose Shop
Choose Genesis from the Model drop down menu
Choose 2009 4.6
Choose Body (Interior and Exterior)
Choose Bumper
Choose Front Bumper
Choose Components and Component Locations

Also look at the repairs procedures. That will help with locating the problem and possibly repairing it without additional parts. Good luck!

thank you

I checked only in repair procedures, I will look into components. Anyway the best way is to unscrew only one side and check whats wrong. For sure I will post pictures for other users !

I think I have found the part that would be defect

It's the part 3, Front Bumper side bracket

When I got the car, I need to pass inspection to register it because I import the car from other province in Canada. The right parking light was burned. To save time, I go to dealer and change the bulb. The mechanic have to remove the bumper to replace the bulb. BUT, I see this problem before replace the bulb and I suppose the mechanic will repair the "unclipping" bumper in same time. But no, he push on the bumper and 2 mile after it pop out again. Maybe the mechanic don't replace the bracket and assume everything are ok. OR, the dealer don't have this bracket in stock.

Probably tomorrow morning I will jack the car, and remove one side of bumper.

hi everyone !

I unscrew the bumper to see whats wrong.

Finally , nothing !

Like kcgr said, there was only not snap. But, I saw how the snap work.

There is 2 tab snap to up and a 3rd tab where snap down. Probably if the bumper "unsnap" easily it's because the piece of plastic where tab are molded are broken or tab are bend. The part cost 6-8$
