  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I believe it happened in the church parking lot and I got a hunch how it happened but I can't prove anything. But it's all good though. Of course I hate getting the ding but I'm not OCD about it.

I've seen youtube clips about using dry ice to pull out dings. Has anyone ever tried this? If so does it work?

Join the club. In my case, someone either backed out or pulled in a bit close to my rear fender and left a long scratch and a slight distortion in the metal. It may have been a pickup truck since the scratch is fairly high up on the fender.

I didn't notice it for a day or two since the car was filthy from driving in rain.

Very bad ding! But those dent puller guys can likely repair that easily. Ask your dealer for their phone number.

Paintless dent repair guys can fix this so its like new.

paintless dent repair. It works as long as the paint hasn't been breached.

Well, I got a long thin scratch on top of the trunk. Definitely, not made by another car. Looks like someone just used a key for whatever reason.
Looks nasty. The car is black, so the scratch is really visible.
Any idea how to fix it?

If you run your fingernail over it, does it catch the nail? If the answer is yes, then the clearcoat has been breached and there's nothing much you can do that doesn't involve painting it.

yea, we got the dent warranty when we got our 2012 Genny...and the price wasn't much more than what it would have cost for one or two repairs...
