Alignment

I am an 09 3.8L owner, with approx 64 K Kms I am on my second set of tires soon third. I changed the OEM tires Dunlop at approx 31 K Kms, Like the previous set the Michelin are wearing in the inside. I have rotated every 5k, Tires installers have balanced and aligned the car and stated that problem is with the car, the dealer stated the problem is with the tires. I am in a catch 22 here. Anyone with the same problem.

Tires on rwd cars with independant rear suspension usually wear tires to the inside more. My BMW does, my Mercedes does and so does my Genesis. Live axle cars usually do not wear tires on the insiide on the rear. That said I got 43000 miles on my last set of tires on my Genesis.

Reverse camber, perhaps, dialed in on these kinds of cars.

Based on other comments in this forum, I think your experience is quite common for the Genesis sedan. My theory is that Hyundai tweaked the alignment to improve steering responsiveness at the expense of even tire wear. It also causes the steering to veer to left or right a bit too often.

Same problem with my 3.8l. First set needed replacement at 11,500 miles next set 6000 miles later. First set blamed on too much cargo and second set blamed on alignment. Does Hyundai have an alignment adjustment or do I keep buying tires?

If you carry a lot in the trunk often then increase tire pressure to 42 psi. on the rear. That should help on wear.
