Also there is a second app that lets you use your phone as a key fob. Its called "Genesis Digital Key"I just purchase a Genesis GV80 2021- is there an app I need to download?
ONLY if you have an Android phone---no iPhones. Also there is a second app that lets you use your phone as a key fob. Its called "Genesis Digital Key"
Thank you for your response. I tried your suggestion to log in to the phone app and stay logged in. I also went to settings/notifications/connected care and settings/notifications/remote (on my phone app) and checked the boxes for email and text. A few minutes later I received a text and an email notifying me that my vehicle was unlocked. Since it was in my locked garage I ignored the notification. About 45 minutes later I was notified again that my vehicle was unlocked. I went to my garage and locked it and the notifications stopped.IMHO, the app signs me our after a certain length of time (No idea how long). After I signed back on in the phone app, making sure "keep me signed in" was checked, all works well.
Problem is, I do not use the phone app very often, but use the car daily!
By the way the email notification comes from genesis connected services. The text came from a five digit number and identified itself as Genesis in the content of the text.Thank you for your response. I tried your suggestion to log in to the phone app and stay logged in. I was wrong when I said that the notifications were not being sent to my 2022 GV80. I appreciate the help from everyone that allowed me to resolve this. This is a useful feature.
I'm somewhat new to this having picked up my 2023 gv70 two months ago. Nice feature but not sure why I get an "unlocked" alert having left my keys in the car whilst in my garage. In that scenario its a pain. After a month or two of not receiving text and email notifications that I had left my '21 GV80 unlocked, today I started receiving the notifications again.
I am familiar with this as well. I think it only happens when in the native navigation screen. Would you confirm that you are in native navigation when this occurs.I need help, in more ways than one, but I'll limit it to my car.
Does anybody know how to completely turn off the speed camera warning?
Every time I come home from my daughter's, I go through a school zone where the normal speed is 25 mph. There is a speed camera installed. During school hours the speed drops to 20 mph. The car sees the 20 mph and doesn't care if it's midnight, the weekend, or summer break; it thinks the speed limit is 20 mph, not 25. So when I drive 25, I have to listen to that #!**!@! warning bong for the better part of a minute until I pass the camera.
Please help me. Anybody? Anybody? Beuller?
Nope. We are almost always using Apple CarPlay and looking at Google Maps.I am familiar with this as well. I think it only happens when in the native navigation screen. Would you confirm that you are in native navigation when this occurs.
I use AA and Waze 99% of the time and don't get the chime when using Waze.
Yes, but turning down the audio in native nav silences the camera alerts. It still changes the color of my speedometer to highlight the warning but isn't yapping at me.Don't have to be using native navigation for the sound to occur. But maybe be outside of carplay or Android Auto, would make sense
Had a chance to try it today. It worked!I think I may have figured out how to do it, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet.
Went into Setup... Sound Settings... Guidance... Guidance Volumes... and set the Alert Volume to zero.
We'll see if it works.
Sounds like you have fluid, so that is not the problem. I'd start with the thermostat, possibly not opening problem.Hi guys, I have a 2019 Genesis G70 3.3 T with 68,000 miles on it. For the last week or so I have noticed a coolant smell after a drive. The coolant reservoir is only slightly low. I wasn’t too worried about that because I had to add a touch of coolant to it last summer. Today I was driving normally when the warning light came on saying the engine was overheating and the temperature gauge was almost to the red so I pulled over and I put my hand in front of the radiator and it was blowing cool air against my hand like it wasn’t circulating the coolant properly. Right before the warning came on I noticed the air conditioner stopped blowing cold. So I had the car towed home. I’ve looked over the engine, and I cannot see any drips anywhere. Any advice would be appreciated.
Stuck thermostat won't usually throw a code. Happened on both my 2 previous Gennies. First was actually stuck OPEN, so no heat in the winter. Second stuck closed and caused overheating.Yeah I agree not a fluid problem. I’ve thought about the thermostat but it seems like most get a code with that and I have no codes. I’ve also considered that the impeller might have come off the water pump. I’m going to try and take the serpentine belt off and manually turn the pump to see if I can feel anything. Thanks for the reply and let me know if you think of anything else.
That's for failures of the electric heat coil in the thermostat that allows the PCM some control over thermostat temperature, not for failures of the thermostat to open/close....I’ve thought about the thermostat but it seems like most get a code with that and I have no codes. ...

I read that the new version sources from Google in real time.As the subject says - getting attached messages after manually updating (May maps/update) the car. I let the Maps/MM OTA expire, b/c I don't mind doing this manually and I see little value in paying for it - but NOW, with this latest update, it seems to indicate that it uses online only and falls back to off-line maps only for connectivity issues... and even though (I checked) the Map OTA subscription doesn't say anything about this feature, I'm wondering - anyone else see these msgs? Or, am I the only one who let the Maps OTA subscription lapse? I _did_ dbl-check with the USB, says it's the same version as to what I have.

Right - that is why I'm suspecting the map OTA subscription right now be a requirement, but so far customer support says noI read that the new version sources from Google in real time.
I’d be interested in seeing that cost comparison, if you have it available.@SuperKing is hitting the nail right on the head here. These big 27" panoramic displays are a cost saving measure masquerading as cutting edge luxury.
It's way cheaper for a manufacturer to source one big glass panel from an electronics supplier than it is to design, wire, and fit a beautifully integrated dashboard with physical analog clusters, custom bezels, and hidden vents.
Just got a call and email with video showing issues. The video shows the voltage measured at the electrical connections to be as expected in the service manual. They are quoting him $8,000 to replace the "MOTOR DRIVEN POWER STEERING MODULE". The car is only worth $9000 sold to an individual in great condition, and much less if traded in. It doesn't make sense to replace the steering module at this price. My first stab at it would be to disconnect the electrical connections related to the unit and inspect for corrosion. Clean them up with some de-ox spray and maybe put a little dielectric grease on the seals on the connectors and then re-mate them. See if that makes any difference with the issue. Are the under-covers still installed? I've heard of problems developing with the steering when the undercover is left off.
