Roseville Hyundai which has been servicing my car for a year has told me they are not getting support from Genesis and will not be servicing vehicles. They are the only Genesis dealer in the greater Sacramento area. During my last service a month ago, they did not perform one recall and ordered a rear trunk mat rear seat protector. The one that came with the vehicle was not gripping to the back seat anymore. I called them today to follow up since they didn't.

I have opened a case with Genesis. Not good news for those of us in Sac because the next closest dealers are 75-100 miles away.
Last year there was news a standalone Genesis would be coming to Sac then the project got canceled. A few months ago an announcement was made one would be coming to Rocklin which is very close and great news. Not sure if construction has even started.

Roseville Hyundai has not provided Genesis type service and has no Genesis loaners. They still have inventory they are selling. Wonder if they are telling potential customers about them pulling out from servicing.

The existence of the MBs suggests to me that the owner of the Rocklin Genesis dealership is also the owner of a Mercedes dealership. While the Genesis dealership here is owned by a local group (including 2 of the 3 Genesis dealerships in greater Phoenix), there is a Penske group that includes, among others, Porsche, Audi, BMW, Jaguar/Land Rover, Mercedes, Mini, Acura, Ferrari, etc. While each dealership appears to be separate, with its own leadership, etc,, in the background it operates as a group for such functions as preparing cars for sale, etc.

BTW, while being part of a group that includes Mercedes is not a guarantee of anything, it would suggest familiarity with how to run a luxury dealership which might not have been true when it was part of a Hyundai dealership. So if my surmise is correct, I would be optimistic.

Yes you are correct same parent company. They own 16 dealerships in CA, so they are probably loaded. ;) This will be their first HMC dealership. They mostly have MB in SoCal and Sac. Can't see a service department opening anytime soon but this is great news. It is the former Camping World location so it is somewhat setup just very old building / architecture. The entrance is probably on the wrong side of the building as it is not street facing. Hopefully it will open by the spring.

I am envious.
Rocklin is a 2 hour drive from the Bay Area, and at this point, probably not worth it (although if Dublin screws up...).
It would be outstanding if someone around here takes on Genesis sales and service, though I'm not extremely hopeful.

I have not had any experience but it is a major company that works with automobile dealers. In all likelihood, Genesis of Rocklin will be a seller of the warranty contracts as well.

I was driving to visit with my son and grandkids when I got the dreaded message of an electrical failure and direction to pull over and park the car. About fifteen miles from home and from the dealership. Annoying since the car had just been in for the ICCU recall. It was a Sunday and it took hours for Genesis to find me a tow truck and driver. Of course the dealership was closed (at least the standalone service part) so I had to UBER home.

Now I am driving an almost new GV70 with the 2.5 liter engine. What a dog! No longer having a GV60P with its more than 500 foot pounds of torque the acceleration from a stop is awful. I am going to have to recognize that my acceleration is so comparatively slow. The loaner also has no HUD which I have become accustomed to and rely upon. My service advisor told me that they only have one electric loaner but he is putting a tag on it so that when it comes back they can switch me out to it.

This makes me realize how much I do love my GV60P and want it back. But it may be a while. My service advisor told me that they are not even taking cars into the shop today for repair. There is a 48 hour delay on that because of a backup. He said that was because there are only three Genesis dealerships in the Valley. IMO that is a BS excuse. There are only 4 BMW dealerships in the area and they are able to service their customers (I assume based on my prior experience as a BMW owner).

It will be interesting to see how long they keep it and that may determine whether in the future I stay with Genesis or move on. If they are going to be keeping my little pocket rocket for an extended period, I would want a loaner that is at least equal to what I gave them to repair!

They got back to me today confirming that it was indeed the ICCU as well as a fuse that will be replaced under warranty. Hopefully this replacement goes smoothly, my new 12V is okay, and this can be put in the past. I will ask about what part number they replaced it with when I pick up the car.

That’s all good. I bet it was the fuse rupturing (with 700V DC at virtually unlimited current into a sudden dead short!) that created the smoke and smell. Also I believe the fuse is external to an otherwise fully sealed ICCU box.

Will be very interesting to see if the replacement ICCU part number supports the new revised hardware ICCU rumours. If so, that should mean you’re unlikely to see this issue again. Fingers crossed. Peter.

When my 2023 ICCU blew, they replaced it with the same model number ending in 1XCA0. Starting with the 2024 model they begin using the newer ICCU 1XCA0A. I don't beleive that I've heard of any GV60 ICCU's going bad on the models 2024 and forward?

Anyone have any ideas as to why I can not get the remote start to work using my key fob? Remote start does work with the App using climate feature.

Car is locked. Standing near by-5ft. When pressing and holding the remote start button, key fob flashes once and then nothing happens.

Brand new car. 200 miles😩

Probably not your issue, but in case you did not know, as you can see from speeders message, you must push the lock button on the key fob first ....and then within a few seconds, push and hold the start button. You must push the lock button even if our car is already locked.
Again, I am not trying to offend you with something you probably already know, but you did not mention pushing the lock button first before pushing the start button in your message and sometimes we miss the littlest things.
I hope you get it worked out.

Makes sense. Reminds me of a situation some years back when a person let their grandson play with the key ring and later found their car running. Things like that introduces safety features and limited run times.

I just bought a 2019 genesis g70 3.3t in august and wanted to add a few things to it now that it's starting to get nice outside. Does anyone know what mods you can do without voiding your warranty? I would assume you wouldn't be able to mess with any main engine components, but would I be able to put an exhaust on without the warranty being voided?

If you want to be safe, I'd call a dealer and speak to their service manager about Genesis/Hyundai's stated position on mod's. I don't know if it's written in any of the documentation we get. I would also ask about any specific mod's you had in mind and if the dealer has any discretion.
I come from an Audi background. Audi had clear guidance for dealers with wide ranging restrictions on mods. They were required to add a flag to the VIN if any restricted mods were found and this "TD1 flag" would stay with the car. Lot's of guy's had warranty work excluded. Some dealers however were mod friendly and would make certain exceptions.
The idea that an intake or exhaust mod might not be related to a particular engine issue would make no difference...warranty denied. Given the potential for expensive warranty work to be denied, I would not just rely on a few forum comments.

My 340i had a modified front end which wasn’t installed correctly and killed both headlights from moisture getting into the light casings and they covered it no questions asked.

Didn’t even charge me the deductible.

As with any insurance or warranty, you need to read the fine print rather than assume. At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is the actual wording in your coverage.

I am also concerned about the 'mods' being a point that the dealership attempts to dismiss the claim. I have pictures of the water leak, pictures of cracks from the mounting screws being factory over-torqued, a video of the front-end being perfectly aligned with the rest of the bottom, plenty of clearance (zero contact) between the headlight assembly and modded parts, the actual TSB (Tech Service Bulletin) covering the issue, diagnosis, and when warranty covers it. I'm prepared to argue and fight the good fight, but I'm hoping I don't have too. I have scoured online forums, like this, and noticed it's a mixed bag as far as if you get it or if you have to fight (even with modding). Does anyone have any advice they could throw my way?

You should be OK with this issue. Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975 protects you in many cases. If the modification caused the problem, yes, but putting in a different air intake should not affect headlight problems.

Hi all, I have a 2019 G70 with 34000 miles on the odometer. The car has suspension creaking and the dealer is saying it needs lateral arms replaced and 2 shocks! Unbelievable! How can a car with so few miles be so deteriorated? I have a Honda Odyssey with 200K and the suspension is still OK. Anyway, anyone else have these problems and have you been able to get any sort of Genesis help to resolve the issue?

Ordered 2 1/2 weeks ago. Got a tracking number 10 days ago. Finally arrived today. After the delays and shipping, and back-and-forth on whether it was completed or not, I finally got my product. Installed as easy as the video shows. Took me about 35 minutes in the Texas heat. Works like a charm.

Hello GenesisOwners!

I came into my Genesis last August with 100K miles on her and she's a blast. As with all my vehicles I try and get a hold of the service manual so I can work on them with a semblance of knowing what I'm doing. Combing through these forums I found some dead links for the 2009/2010 service manual. I was wondering if anyone had been lucky enough to grab a copy of it while it was available and could send me/post the manual again? I looked through the 2009 manual that OneFunGenesis posted to his dropbox but I fear that the differences between the 2009 and 2010 are too much. I'm specifically trying to do some electrical work. Much appreciated fellers

Hi. I'm usually on Genesis Owners about my 2019 G90, but today I need some help troubleshooting my son's 2015 Hyundai Genesis 3.8. The local Hyundai dealer refuses to work on it despite it being a Hyundai (they don't have the Genesis dealership) and previously selling them, as they say they've had "bad luck working on them". Same for the dealer an hour South. The dealer at which I bought my G90 has the worst customer service of ANY business I've ever done business with, despite going through a new service manager every year. I cannot get a return call (of someone on the phone) while they have my car last time for 8 of the 12 weeks they had it, and in the end, they still didn't get the trunk issue I've had since purchase fixed. So, they're not an option. The next closest is Cool Springs in South Nashville, 3.5 hours away, but just drove by them today and it looks like the shop is in a complete demolition/rebuild.

My son has tried to troubleshoot this himself by purchasing a code reader and even dropped it for a few weeks at the local import car maintenance shop, and got a call that they could not reproduce the complete lack of power steering that happens unpredictably.

He is thinking of purchasing a used electric power steering rack (he says this is the first year or two the Genesis had electric steering rather than hydraulic) and just getting the local import dealer to replace it for him.

Is intermittent failure of the electric power steering a known issue with these vehicles? If so, what are the potential causes? He has looked at the service manual documents but doesn't want to tackle it himself. He thinks it may be a network/communications problem since the steering motor works fine when it is working.

The error codes he's getting haven't been helpful.

Clean them up with some de-ox spray and maybe put a little dielectric grease on the seals on the connectors and then re-mate them. See if that makes any difference with the issue. Are the under-covers still installed? I've heard of problems developing with the steering when the undercover is left off.

Just got a call and email with video showing issues. The video shows the voltage measured at the electrical connections to be as expected in the service manual. They are quoting him $8,000 to replace the "MOTOR DRIVEN POWER STEERING MODULE". The car is only worth $9000 sold to an individual in great condition, and much less if traded in. It doesn't make sense to replace the steering module at this price.

My son looked the part up online and can get one for $1000, but none of the independent shops in my area are willing to work on the car. In fact, the local Hyundai dealers in my hometown of Tupelo, MS and an hour away in Columbus, MS refused to work on the 2015 Hyundai Genesis, even though it is a Hyundai! The dealer that it is with now is two hours away.

Does anyone know of any independent shops in Memphis, TN or Birmingham, AL that would tackle replacing the power steering module?

Or, is there a part of the steering module that can be replaced or overhauled, such as a bad electric motor, without replacing the entire assembly?

My son has decided to purchase a used electric power steering module ($500) and attempt to install it himself. This part cannot be purchased new from Hyundai, only as a complete electric steering rack with motor and control module. The Hyundai tech told him that the voltages measured at the module were within spec, which makes failure of the control module most likely.

I’m a little embarrassed to say that I’m having a problem putting my floor mats back into my 2025 G70. I removed them easily enough by pulling them down from the top but cannot seem to snap them back in. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
