Is this normal? Car is in drive and I step on brake with my hand on shift knob i hear and feel it click very noticeably.

I have noted considerable heat radiating from the front Brembo brakes on my 2010 V8 Sedan, while almost nothing coming from the smaller rear brakes. Is this normal? Do the rear brakes do almost nothing? The rear brakes have been recently serviced by the local dealer.
