  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My Hyundai Genesis dealer just called to tell me I was entitled to a $1,500 rebate as a (former) Toyota Avalon customer. (I custom :)ordered the Car around 11/1/09).

He's re-writing the sales papers to reflect that.

Such a deal!

My salesman was Fred Perlmutter (a really professional guy who knew his product, and the competition very well).

The dealer was Delray Accura/Honda, in Delray Beach, FL.

You can call him at 561-282-7904

Feel free to mention my name, Dave, (from Boca Raton) - the guy he sold a 2010 to this month with Option package 3 (GPS, etc.) - Black exterior with saddle leather (dark brown) interior.

Seriously, he's a good guy, as was the sales Manager, Tom (I forgot his last name). I was not an easy sale, and drove a hard but fair bargain, beating the "Internet" price and the "Costco" price by more than $500.

If he is "Delray Acura/Honda", How is he a Hyundai Dealer?

Also, if he is an Acura/Honda dealer, how is he authorized to give you a "rebate" because you are a former Toyota Avalon customer?

I don't understand!

Here is the offer on their website (includes any competitive model):

"That's right,.....now on 2009 & 2010 Genesis Sedans, for a limited time ony, recieve $1,500,00 in additional savings if you are a current Hyundai Owner or an owner of a competitive model, and you don't have to trade. Drive away in style while taking advantage of this once a year event!
Coupon not valid with any other offer. Must present coupon at time of purchase. Limit one coupon per person. Coupon does not apply to prior purchases. Other Restrictions may apply. Void where prohibited.Offer expires: 11/30/2009"

I assume they adjust their prices accordingly. Believe it or not :D, some people who post here work for dealerships.

My sales guy called me and told me the same thing...The only hold up for me is deciding which one to get. 2009 or 2010...
Why the tough choice, that may seem obvious?
I want a titanium 4.6 with saddle and tech package. No one has an 2009, so I would have to settle with a black interior.
I have a buyers agreement in my hand for a 2009 Titanium/black 4.6 tech for $36,600.00 That's $2500.00 below the dealer invoice of $29k and $5700.00 below MSRP. That price does include my $1500.00 additional incentive because I own a 2005 Mercedes. I'm not trading my MB in, but I don't have to, to get the added discount.
So, that's a hell of a deal for a brand new 2009.....While if I choose to get exactly what I want and opt for the improved suspension, I'll likely pay above invoice and have to wait for the car to be sent to me from Hyundai.

Dealers get credit for a sale if it comes off their existing inventory. When you walk in and order a car, they don't get the same type of credit from Hyundai, so they would rather a buyer buy something on their lot.

I'll be deciding in the next couple of weeks, but I've already decided on the Genesis of a low mileage 2009 Mercedes E350 with sport package. I've driven both and I love my current Mercedes, but there's really no comparison, for the money, so Hyundai is getting my business. Plus, I don't want another "me too" car. There's a ton of E-Class Mercedes out there in that particular body style, since it's been the same for like 6 years.

Tell me this isn't impressive though....I bought my C230 Kompressor sport sedan new in 2005. Since then I've racked up 198,000 miles on it. It's a manual 6spd trans and I've never replaced the clutch. (I don't drive like an old lady either) It's never not started, never left me stranded, never been towed and the only part I've had to replace, other than tires, brakes and other normal wear items, was the alternator at 115k mile.
I just did my second serpentine belt replacement and first coolant flush. That's right! the original coolant lasted 197k miles and was still showing as serviceable. I've only had to change the spark plugs once, at 100k miles. I will be doing them again at 208k miles (my next service)..

I've been trolling around the site for a month or so now and I've posted a couple threads.....Just waiting to get the car. already have the badges ordered, wheels lined up to be ordered, and a few other things. I may be changing out the exhaust from the cat back and adding new tips, but none of this will be "blingy" just clean looking and nice sounding.

Can't wait!

Scott

first time poster. i really love the amount of info on this site.

To your post, i have been offered a similar deal, they offered a 2009 black 4.6 tech package for 36K. does that sound like a good deal to you? i actually told them i wanted the wing emblem badges and they said they will throw that in for free.

i guess my question to all is, is 36K for a new 09 Genesis a good price.... or a GREAT price? and if its only a good price, should i try haggling for free maintenance for an X pd of time/miles?

thanks again to this great forum. is this the biggest genesis owners forum on the internet btw?

That's an excellent price for a 4.6. Hell it would be a pretty good price for the 3.8 Tech. I would jump on it if it's new an not some demo that's got miles racked on it.

Just wanted to say that i am now the newest member of this forum thread that owns a Genesis!

2009 4.6 w/ Tech blk/blk. I am very happy and now its all about figuring out all the features.... boy there's a bunch. the rebadging looks great, i actually requested not to have the front done since the back and the wheel caps were badged. i wanted to keep it clean.
