  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I was backended yesterday while stopped at a light. Drove me forward into another vehicle. I was devastated when I got out & saw all the damage. The great news is that the active headrests operated perfectly. Both fired and I had NO whiplash effects. ( Sore shoulders ) The car was driven right up to the rear frame but no damage to frame. Trunk, bumpers, side panels etc, etc. Non repairable. Front bumper & grill destroyed too. The old Pontiac in front hadn't a mark & the Ford Escape that hit me...maybe $1000.
Body man tells me the Gennie collapsed like it's supposed to.
Good news, all parts available except for one headrest on back order AND...no one was hurt. ( Cept my beloved Gennie )

Glad everyone was ok. Don't let them replace lights with aftermarket. Make sure they are OEM.

Since we cannot see Bin Laden's corpse- care you share a pic of this gore?

Very sorry to hear......glad you came out relatively unscathed......metal can be replaced....people cannot. Good luck with the rebuild and as homeofstone stated "make sure OEM lights are installed"

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
 The $12,000 repair gets uglier. 10 parts are back ordered to Korea !!! No idea when ! Good old Hyundai Canada. Love the car but will never buy Hyundai again...

Didn't insurance get you a loaner car? Heck- drive up the miles while it's in the shop!

Call a Buffalo NY shop just for kicks

Same can happen with an Acura. We hit a dear about 4 years ago with our TSX and it was made in Japan. So some front end parts coming from Japan were backordered.

I feel like I recall some Canadian law that prohibits you from driving a damaged car, is that the case? If so, what are you driving?

I'm driving a rented Infiniti M37. ( Paid for ) Very nice but the fuel economy is shocking ! May need a second mortgage to keep this thing in fuel ! No sign of either interest or parts on behalf of Hyundai Canada so far..

Hang in there....... a wreck is always a PITA regardless. Also, seems parts are ordered on a frequent basis. Nobody wants huge warehouses of parts just taking up space and money, so, needing body parts that are back ordered isn't very uncommon. Just drive around in your free rental and relax if you can.... nothing you can do anyway.

"Let's do the time warp again!"

You just have to suck it up man... Sorry to hear about your car but glad everyone is OK. My car was rear ended a couple weeks ago... 80% of the parts are in and not sure when the other parts will be arriving.

See pic here... http://genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showthread.php?t=12590

I figured it was going to take 5 to 6 weeks to get the car back. Once you tell yourself that things get a little easier. You have to take a step back and be realistic about certain things.
