  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Haven't been there in the coupe yet.

Took it up to 98 on I 64 going east bound up that tall/steep mountain between Clifton Forge and Lexington, VA earlier in the summer. One of those start up the hill in 6th gear and see how it takes more pedal. Smooth acceleration (and pretty quickly) right up to 98 mph. I told my wife how fast we were going, she got to acting a little funny and when I asked if she wanted to break 100 she said no so I backed off.

Been to 120 in the IROC, a little over 130 in the old Laguna and 110 in the 81 Z28.

Now I'm getting old enough (and cautious enough) that 120 in the IROC three or four years ago made me uncomfortable (I 75 between Parkersburg and Charleston, WV showing a BMW 744 I wasn't going to let him go any faster than I was going to go).

Fun, but not a good idea.

Early Sunday mornings when the weather is nice around 6am the county highways are wide open with no cops or traffic. Less than 2 miles you can run it up and back down with no worries. I do it about once a month just to let it blow the pipes out. Most of time I am squeezing every drop of gas for mileage. Of course this is a total contradiction from a mad man , right? I do not drive unless it is totally safe. When the weather is clear you can see straight ahead 10 miles. The farmers have cut down most of the woods along the roads so deer is not a issue to much any more. Indiana is starting to look like Nebraska. Open plains and fields kinda boring driving in certain areas.

The 2.0T runs out of steam at 130, so a friend told me.

2009 3.8 sedan.... had to let up (from still pulling hard) @ 115 or would've gone airborne over a whoop-dee-doo.
Strong enough for my purposes.

146 and still plenty of pull in my 3.8.

Sent from my SGH-i917 using Board Express

Been over 140 and still pulling in mine.

On the interstate all alone on a straightaway passed 146 last time I looked down and was running out of straightaway driving so I let up. The ride was smoooth and never felt out of control. I am told by a tech that the computer stops it at 155, but I wasn't quite there yet. 146 was fast enough and got there in a big hurry. 70-120 was about 3 secs if I remember right. Made this old man feel young and stupid again :)
