'13 Genesis will not hold "Shuffle" in IPod mode

Had some initial problems getting recognition of my IPod, which I resolved by re-downloading ITunes and "restoring" IPod.
Now car recognizes IPod, but does not keep/retain/hold the "shuffle" setting (in songs). Any minor change such as going to FM or even back to playlist deletes the shuffle setting, requiring manual reset.
At a forum member's suggestion I checked and confirmed that the shuffle setting was engaged/turned on at my IPod.
Is this a common problem, like the surround setting on the 2012s?

Yep it's a noted common issue - I can almost change it to shuffle mode blindfolded now I've done it so often. How they missed this is beyond me.

The IPOD cord for the Genesis doesn't work the problem I think is the aux plug part.. I purchased for 99 cents on Ebay a cord similar to what I use to connect to my computer except shorter. It works perfectly.

My current problem with the radio is that formerly the radio would be on the same station it was on when I turned off the car. Now the radio reverts to the 1st station on XM1 XM2 or XM3 on my lists.
