Hey fellas.
I just wanted to put up a quick post about the exhaust I decided to do with my 5.0.
I know there are a few threads like this but I wanted to give some info on the dynomax mufflers for anyone who wants to know specifically about fitment and sound doing this particular set up.
Anyway here's a quick run down of what I did and my experiences with it over the half day I've had it done. (It's only been a day so things can change)
PARTS:
Dynomax super turbo mufflers (2)
Cheap 2.25 inch inlet/dual 3 inch outlet exhaust tips I got off Amazon. (2)
Cut out center resonator and just replaced with straight pipe. (H piped it)
So no resonators.....cut stock mufflers and fixed up the new ones with the new tips.
My regret (F*#K up) is I cheaped out got the wrong tips off Amazon cause of price and speed of delivery etc.. I should have got the ones that are a "left" "right" fitment cause the tips are not even they stagger the length to fit better around the bumper. So mine are straight even coming out. Its fine as is but is not quite right and my only dislike so far. The look is juuuust not right.. I'll prob swap those out in time.
SOUND: Sounds freaking great!!! I didn't want a super loud and aggressive exhaust. I need it to be relatively quiet at idle, slow speeds and cruising etc. Drone is barely there...not really any noticeable drone. It always will have some amount and some point in the rpm range and load of engine etc. It's not an issue or worry so far....It's super quiet inside and doesn't get too crazy when you Rev it out. It's freaking loud standing out back tho. So it is still fairly loud but not aggressive and raspy if youre outside or have the windows rolled down. This seems to be a good balance of what I want with some "cheap" simple dynomax mufflers. Flowmaster/borla/magnaflow will be much louder.
Let me know any questions and specifics on stuff if you want to do anything to your rig. I wanted to get this up real quick for anyone who needs a bit of info.
