  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

As a non-subscriber to BlueLink, I recently got an email "Blue Friday" special offer of $15 for 3 months of Connected Care and Remote Services for my 2015 Genesis, after which time the rate changes to $10/month for both sevices. Pretty decent offer, especially if I cancel after 3 months, but the following fine print has me confused:

After 90 days, subscription rates will be adjusted to $5/package/month. This will be reflected in the account prior to the expiration of the 90-day offer. This pricing will continue while the account remains active. If the account is cancelled at any time, the promotional pricing will expire and may not be available again. The account expiration date will update once the monthly promotion is active.

Is there a "gotcha" buried in that language that I should be concerned about? Is there a typo in the first sentence which should read "...rates will be adjusted to $10/package/month"? As it stands, it sounds like the rates start out higher but get adjusted downward after the fact, or something like that.

Thanks for your input, especially if you have accepted this offer.

I don't see the "gotcha". as long as you don't cancel, you have the $5 per package of $10 for two packages forever. If you cancel, you may never get the deal again. After the trial period, you will be paying $120/year compared to the list price of $198. The only thing I wonder about, IIRC there are three packages available so if you want the third you'd probably pay full list.

Thank you. I was reading "$5 per package" to mean "per package of two services," while they are actually using it to mean "per service," or $10 for both. All is clear. Thanks again.
