  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've done some searches and although it may be possible to used the 17 OEM wheels from the V6 on some earlier 4.6, it seems that the brakes won't allow these wheels to fit on a 2011 4.6. At least that's what I think I've read.

If I'm wrong, please correct me, if not, has anyone sucessfully fitted some 17 aftermarket wheels on the 2011 4.6? Although winter is just about over, I was thinking of looking for some winter wheels, hence the 17 in.

I may be wrong, but I thought all 2009-2011 4.6 would be the same, and maybe there was a change in 2012 (along with some other changes).

Looks like Tire Rack and Discount Tire direct both have 17 wheels ($104 -120ish) that will fit the 2011 4.6.

Still no clarification if Hyundai Genesis 17 (from V6) will fit the 2011 4.6.

As I recall, the 4.6 Genesis has a larger front brake caliper that will NOT clear the 17" Genesis wheels. You'll note that the 17's only came on the base model 3.8 Genesis that has the smaller front calipers. I know this was true in 2009 and I don't think that there were any changes to brakes in later years. That said, it does not mean that some aftermarket wheels will not fit a 4.6 Genesis. So Discount Tire or Tirerack may be correct when they list 17" wheels for the Genesis 4.6.

17" wheels fit however you need to find ones that do which is not an easy task. I wanted these for my previous 2010 4.6 for winter wheels/tires. My local tire shop got me 2 sets which he said he would try and if they did not fit he would try another model. 1st try was a success. My 2010 4.6 was junked in an accident however I kept the wheels and tires which are now on my 2012 R spec. Problem is these are Chinese knock off so no brand name so to say. Bottom line is a 17" will fit in some brands. I am extremely pleased with the winter performance of the Continental Extreme Winter Contacts I had on there for the last 4 winters. 225 55/17 to be exact. Excuse the mud/salt/crap, it's still winter here.
