I have 18” wheels for the winter. Comfort and noise impacts will largely depend on the specific tire chosen, but you can generally expect a softer ride with less wheel and more tire.Have you swapped out the advanced/performance model tires for 19-inch tires? Did you notice any difference in comfort/noise/increased range?
No, but I'm looking to. I've seen that people have successfully put 235/55-R19 tires on, but don't know why they'd chose those over a 255/55-R19 or 255/50-R19. If anyone knows, please let us know if the slimmer tire reduces resistance and/or gives an advantage in any other way.Have you swapped out the advanced/performance model tires for 19-inch tires? I purposely replaced the factory-installed 255/40R21s on my GV60 Performance with 235/55R19s to increase range. According to my estimate, the actual power reserve will increase by about 10%. I didn't notice any change in ride or handling. Appearance of course became worse.

Michelin Primacy tour 255/40R21 came from the factory. Replaced with Good Year Efficient Grip 235/55R19. Replaced because of the desire to increase the range. My driving style is calm. What tires did you go with, and if you don't mind... why?

I’m a bit of a tire snob - just not the place to sacrifice quality to save a few bucks, IMO. Without good tires you don’t steer, brake, or accelerate properly. So when I’m shopping I research alternatives, and usually buy the best tire that will fit.Which tire did you choose, and if you don't mind, why?
I assume that's just for winter, and that you'll put the OE tires back on now... or soon?I’m a bit of a tire snob - just not the place to sacrifice quality to save a few bucks, IMO. I went with the Michelin X-Ice Snow, because it:
- Is one of the highest-rated winter tires
- Has low rolling resistance
- Is available in the size I wanted
- Was available at Costco (price was good, location convenient, and I trust their installation and warranty)
Yes. I keep the wheels/tires in my garage and can swap them myself when needed. I just keep an eye on the weather forecast during the spring and fall and swap them when the weather demands it.I assume that's just for winter, and that you'll put the OE tires back on now... or soon?
