  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Have you swapped out the advanced/performance model tires for 19-inch tires? Did you notice any difference in comfort/noise/increased range?

I have 18” wheels for the winter. Comfort and noise impacts will largely depend on the specific tire chosen, but you can generally expect a softer ride with less wheel and more tire.
I can’t speak to range as the colder weather has a much greater impact on range than the wheel/tire combo.

No, but I'm looking to. I've seen that people have successfully put 235/55-R19 tires on, but don't know why they'd chose those over a 255/55-R19 or 255/50-R19. If anyone knows, please let us know if the slimmer tire reduces resistance and/or gives an advantage in any other way.

Also, The two I'm looking at are the Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3, or the Michelin CrossClimate2, as they both get good reviews, and compare very favorably to the OE tires (Primacy Tour A/S). But I haven't seen any reviews with these on an EV, so it might be a crap shoot.

On page 81 of the manual it lists the size of 19-inch tire as 235/55-R19. That’s what’s on the overseas GV60 rear wheel model. Also says to use wheel rim size 8.0 x 19. So maybe that’s the recommended tire to replace it with.

Well for snow a skinnier tire is better that is likely the reason for that size being used

I purposely replaced the factory-installed 255/40R21s on my GV60 Performance with 235/55R19s to increase range. According to my estimate, the actual power reserve will increase by about 10%. I didn't notice any change in ride or handling. Appearance of course became worse.

What were the specs of your wheel rims size?
8.5 x 19 or
8.0 x 19

What tires did you go with, and if you don't mind... why?

Какие у тебя были характеристики размера колесных дисков?

What do you mean by the "power reserve" increasing?

Which tire did you choose, and if you don't mind, why?

I’m a bit of a tire snob - just not the place to sacrifice quality to save a few bucks, IMO. Without good tires you don’t steer, brake, or accelerate properly. So when I’m shopping I research alternatives, and usually buy the best tire that will fit.

I went with the Michelin X-Ice Snow, because it:
  • Is one of the highest-rated winter tires
  • Has low rolling resistance
  • Is available in the size I wanted
  • Was available at Costco (price was good, location convenient, and I trust their installation and warranty)

I assume that's just for winter, and that you'll put the OE tires back on now... or soon?

Yes. I keep the wheels/tires in my garage and can swap them myself when needed. I just keep an eye on the weather forecast during the spring and fall and swap them when the weather demands it.

(Also posted in another thread...)

Went from the OE 20" to 19" (235/55 R19 105V) Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3.
Only went about 7 miles home, but I love them! Silent.
I'll be putting a lot more miles on them this weekend (ugh), so I'll have a much better idea how they perform on all kinds of roads, including some unpaved (eek!).

I'm considering changing my P's model from 21s to 19s once these tires start to wear down but are the performance models still capable of using those? Aren't the brakes larger vs the Advanced?

Never replaced wheels before so I have no idea.
