If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just put some new tires on the car and it slightly pulling to the right. Going to get an alignment this weekend. Questions is, 2 vs 4 wheel alignment? Does the Genesis have front and rear adjustments or just in the front?

4 wheel alignment. Always do a 4 wheel alignment. Could be a problem with the new tires.

Also agree that a 4 wheel alignment is preferred......

Ditto!

4 wheel...the cost difference is usually minimal at most places. And you'll end up paying way more (plus time wasted) if you do 2 wheel and end up having to do the other axle.

I booked an alignment with Firestone but the website did not specify if it was a 2 or 4 wheel alignment. When i picked up the car, the tech showed me the before and after measurements on all 4 wheel, so it was a 4 wheel alignment.

One thing to note is that the tech said that on the front wheels the car does not have certain adjustment (camber/caster... really don't remember which one he said) but that it was in spec.

As a side note, you can get the unlimited alignment package from Firestone (normally $199) for half off on New Year's Day ($119).

The factory does not enable all parameters to be set in the alignment, but with a good tech and a die grinder you can enable adjustment to any specifications you need. On my '11 Genesis we shimmed behind the suspension bracket that bolts to the chassis. On my '15 we were able to oval out the linkage chassis attachment holes to move the members to enable the proper alignment. We achieved the specs I wanted on my '15 and it drives great. For complete details see the post I provided back then. My posts are either the end of the first page or beginning of second. Steering pulls to right

Well, during the middle of the week i had to take the car back since they did not leave the steering wheel centered. Today, i dropped of off again since it was pulling to the right. Hopefully third time is the charm.

Well, car keeps pulling to the right and they said they could not fix it unless i bought the aftermarket kit ~$175.

Thinking about taking it to the dealer (~$110 for alignment) but will they tell me the same thing and not be able to fix it?

Take it to the dealer. Keep your documents for proof of multiple alignments which failed to produce better results. I'm assuming it's under warranty they "have to" fix it. Don't even ask about the nightmare I'm having with my back up camera. Thinking of going the lemon route and having it paid off. Three attempts to fix and still isn't working. Be persistent with Hyundai!!!

Yes you need to take it to the dealer. They can fix it properly.

I called my local dealer and they said that the slight/gravitational pull is a known issue and they (Hyundai) have not been able to fix. He did mention that Hyundai made an OEM camber kit for the previous Genesis to fix this issue but nothing for the new one yet.

Also, he said that they get 2-3 customers per month with this issue and that they have only been able to fix it on the Equus by drilling some holes.

Guess they only way to fix the Genesis is with the aftermarket kit

Pulling to the side, was an issue with 1G, but not 2G. My '13 rspec did that, but I didn't have any problems with '15 5.0 even lowered, the car drove straight. Same with '18 g80 sport.
I would take it to the Just Tires (they are good at it) and let them align it and see what would they say. I would skip dealer till there is an issue with the suspension.

Well, just got a call from Firestone and they said that they could not install the aftermarket kit (bolt) on this car. Apparently, they tried but there was no room for it.

Any ideas on how to fix the slight pull to the right?

Again, drop it off at the dealership, have them give you a loaner vehicle, and don't pick it up until the problem is solved.

Although Firestone was not able to install the aftermarket kit, they most of done something else because the pull is barely noticeable. So I'm good for now.

wow, very interesting to learn that pulling to the right is a known problem. Have had multiple dealer alignments and also went to two firestones, probably 8 trips total over the last 3 years. Super annoying problem, came close to dumping the car over the problem but decided to live with it. I hit a curb a few years back and always attributed it to that incident, despite dealer repair.
