  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I found this rechargable flashlight to replace the boring cigarette lighter. When it is not in use (being charged), it emits a red glow that is very cool.

You can find it in many online stores including Amazon. ([ame="http://www.amazon.com/Spotlight-WGSLSPOTBLAK-Rechargeable-Flashlight-Black/dp/B001BDJVYQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1261178478&sr=8-1"]link[/ame])

Sweet!

I really like the idea - can the sliding door close when the light is charging?

Thanks...

Yes. The sliding door can completely closed when it is charging. Now this flashlight is one of my "Geneisis Tour" highlight when I show my car to friends and co-workers. The moment I open the slide door, they will say "Wow! What is that?" :D

ooooooh. Ordered! :O

I ordered one. Now, I can put the one I have in the driver's door pocket back in my truck. It slides and hits with a bang if I accelerate or brake quickly.

This one works fine also...

It fits with the cover slid shut? Blue light illuminates? Looks good- despite other complaining about the fit. Assume it fits snuggly?

Mine fit great with the removable end contact in place. The cover closes just fine.

I used the light last night when leaving the New Year's party. It gives an amazing amount of light for something that small.

Don't tell them it's a flashlight...tell then that the glow is coming from inside of the Genesis' 1.21 gigawatt flux capacitor!

Once again, Forum Members help out....... I just received my order of the flashlight (like the one in the pic from QQ007 above) and it works great. Glows red, which adds a real interesting contrast to all the blue at night in the car when the ashtray is slid open.

Ashtray door operates just fine when this is plugged in and the light itself is pretty powerful....

Thanks for the hint.

I went to local Fred Meyers - they had led 12volt ( skull, heart or a frog ) that goes in where the lighter goes ...they were around 6 bucks . I don't know if they ashtray would still close once in place. I got the frog one just in case :)

I Just ordered one of the flashlights myself since I'm a non smoker. I'm looking forward to seeing how it works.

I purchased the [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000P6WN68/?tag=5336121763-20"]Coast 7575 Rechargeable Flashlight Auto LED[/ame] recommended by Seattle Genesis earlier in this thread and found it did not fit my 2010 3.8 Sedan. It's very nicely machined, looks great, and has a nice weight that makes it feel substantial.

Unfortunately, it fits loosely into the cigarette lighter and doesn't make electrical contact. Consequently, the flashlight doesn't charge.

I found it does charge in the power outlet inside the center console near the USB port, but it does not charge in the cigarette lighter.

Just wondering, is it safe to use the cigarette lighter to charge a phone or gps? Any difference compared to the plug in the glove compartment?
