  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has had similar issues and has found a solution. I go to get into my car and everything is working, then I hit the button to start the car and it makes a pew noise and everything goes dead and I have no power to anything and nothing works. The first time I could just get out of the car and try again in a minute and it started but now it won't. Today when it wouldn't start I pulled the 50 fuse off of the battery and put it back in then it started. Then it died again later today and I had to disconnect the ground from the battery and put it back tight and it started. Had to do that twice today. Auto Zone says my battery is fine and is 100%. After I get the car started it will start every time. Please help.

Sounds like your starter is going out.

also I forgot to mention that after it goes dead the car has no power at all, no dash lights and you can't lock or unlock and the start button does nothing

Despite what Autozone said, you might want to try changing the battery first.

Interstate Battery said my battery was fine (I was also having starting issues and other electrical issues). I had them test it twice even, but they still said it was great. My battery wasn't even a year and a half old and I told them I want a new one and I'll pay for it.

The new battery fixed ALL of the problems I was having including starting issues.

Sometimes its just a connection problem at the battery.

I think that's what it was I tightened the positive connection to the battery and haven't had the issue since so fingers crossed

I have had similar problems at least 4 times with my Genesis 2010 4.6 l. Each time the car was taken to the dealer. They checked the battery and the chargeing circuit. Everything was fine. Do not know what to do.

check all of your connections, for me I think the positive end was too loose because I moved it in and tightened it and haven't had the problem since
