  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey all. I have read just about every article and thread on disable of the ESC system, and tried to find the fuses described, and I could really use some pointers. I have multiple ESC fuses, multiple areas of the car in boxes, and many ECS fuses. I truly need to have a toggle switch interceptor for disabling this system when I must in these harsh Canadian roads at times, so I can control this car properly without feeling like a grandmother with a husband car instructor with his own car controls. I'll post some photos of the fuses I have later tonight, but does anyone know the actual process in the 2009 3.8 sedan?

TIA

Here is the photos of my fuse panels...any idea which one of these comes out, or is the one that needs to toggle off while button is pushing, etc?

Thanks DareckiBMW...I have read that thread over a few times. Our problem as a 2009 3.8 owner is feel free to check my fuse boxes photos above...and tell me where the ESC fuse is. The first direction is to remove the 10a ESC fuse, for which I don't have one in any box.

The fuse I have in the spot of the ESC on other cars is ESP. Now I have taken that out, however it does not react the same as the toggle capable ESC. The remove fuse, push button, wait 7 seconds etc does not work on it. Removing it completely does disable speedo and cruise, but it will let the car break free better. If I should just be doing this mod on that fuse, then that is cool, but I want to be sure I am actually getting all the benefits since the fuse is labelled something different.

Anyone done this using the ESP fuse as the one we toggle?
