  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone replaced their stock backup camera with an aftermarket model? Is it possible to connect it to display on the screen in the car just as the OEM one would?

I ask because as many others have experienced; my backup camera stopped working. it only shows a black screen with the guide lines now. I've ever taken the trunk liner off and put contact grease on the connection for the camera, to no avail.

I simply son't want to pay some $200-$300 CAD for a new OEM camera and then installation on top of that. Some of these cameras on amazon/ebay are very cheap. I'm hoping there's a possibility here somewhere.

Thanks!

I have the same problem! Has anyone put an aftermarket camera? Thanks

I installed camera from amazon few years ago and is still working good. You will have to splice wires and be a little creative mounting it.

Do you know what brand or model number you bought? I have a 2009 Genesis.
Thank You
