  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The external door lock button on my driver's side quit working several months ago. I ignored it as long as I could, but - poor me - pulling my fob out of my pocket to unlock the door became too much of a burden. I have the HPP Platinum protection plan, and was glad to learn that the repair (minus a $100 deductible) is covered. The cost for the new handle was almost $500, plus whatever labor was required, so I figure the extended warranty has been worth the cost (my nav head unit was also replaced a couple of years ago under the warranty).

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
the realistic price of this part is 95 or 145$ depending on the model year plus 10-15$ shipping from korea.
even USA dealer's list price is nowhere near to 500$ but 256$ an who would pay the list price.

Turns out I was quoted $477 over the phone, but was told it was covered by the warranty with $100 copay. But when the work was actually done the invoice showed $256 for the handle plus A$103 labor. My actual cost was the $100 copay, so I think I did ok, especially since my warranty had previously paid for a new nav head unit, which was several thousand dollars.

I Seem to be having a similar issue with my 2013. Using either the key fob or the external door lock/unlock bottom It takes a few tries to unlock the drivers door. All the other doors unlock on the first try, and they lock fine, it seems to just be the drivers door unlock function.

I'll have to the dealer to see what is going on.

No, it would be different problem I think. What is discussed here is the button problem. If all doors unlock ok other than driver's I would say it's not the handle button but door lock/actuator problem.
