2010 4.6 Ac Issue

AC on my 2010 4.6 sedan is cutting out randomly. Temp gauge goes to cold and AC blows hot air. Back to normal in a day or two or a few hours. Dealer cannot replicate the problem.
Anyone else have a similar problem? HELP!

Thanks, I'll check the over pressure out. Why the temp gauge dropping to cold while AC out though? Goes back to normal temp reading when AC issue goes away. Weird

Which temp gauge are you talking about? OAT or the desired temp setting?

engine temp gauge drops to cold from normal range when A/C goes out. goes back to normal range when A/c decides to come back on. Strange

My first guess is that the engine temp is the problem. If the engine temp is below a threshold number the computer in charge will turn the compressor off to help prevent evaporator from freezing up.
This is only a theory based on my experience with cars in general.

Yeah that might make sense... because when thermocouples fail, they usually fail open to minus_some_ridiculous_number.
