  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to the forums and to the Genesis vehicles as well. I just recently purchased my new to me 2010 3.8 Sedan, and this morning after about a week of ownership, I'm having what appears to me to be a serious electrical problem. So it started when I noticed that the vehicle wasn't detecting my key fob to unlocked the doors. I figured it was just the battery, so I quickly grabbed my spare fob, but that didn't work either. After opening the door using the actual key, my interior lights began flickering. On for a split second, then off for a few, etc. I noticed that they flickered in tandem with the red security light on the dash. The vehicle does not try to start at all, even with the fob in the slot in the center console. The interior lights all work fine when turn on manually (not trying to detect and open door), and all the center console and door lights work when I change the headlights to on position, but the actual head lights will not turn on. I'm hoping it's just battery related, but I feel like its something more involved than that. Anyone have an idea on where to start looking for shorts or something of that nature? Thank you for everyone who chimes in!

Additional info - power seats work, door LOCK work, unlock does not...strange lol. Cluster doesn't light up, rear shade does not operate either.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Check the battery connections on top of battery in trunk , make sure they are clean and tight. Also, make sure the negative battery cable that connects to floor of trunk is clean, with a tight connection to trunk floor. Then have your battery checked at Autozone, Advance AutoParts, O'Reilly auto parts etc type of store that will test your battery free.

Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely be checking that when I get off today!

So, I went through all the fuses and when I took out the 10a IPM fuse in the engine bay and put it back in, my alarm started going off and everything worked again. Anyone have any ideas what the heck happened or what could've caused this?
