If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi I just got my 2010 Hyundai Genesis 2.0 yesturday and I've been looking everywhere online to find out how to remove the recirc. hose for BOV.. Anyone here can help me out? Maybe pictures or videos? I want that blow off sound vrrooooommm...tssssssssss

I have a 13 and it's very straightforward. Find the blow off valve, there's a hose coming off it with a compression clamp holding it on. Use pliers to slide the clamp down then rotate and pull the hose until it pops off. Do the same on the intake side of the hose. Then find something to cover the intake port (very important). Many people use a rubber chair leg bottom cover from walmart, I used a wine bottle rubber cap. You can re-use the clamp or a zip-tie to hold it in place.

If the 10 BOV is anything like the 13, it's very easy to do.

It's not. See also: pictures of the engine, or Google.

There is no recirc hose on a '10-'12. Buy an intake to suit all your pshh-pshh wants.

So does the 10 vent to atmosphere already? I googled it but haven't found much. It looks like the stock bov has a vacuum line but no other hose, but in lots of places you can't vent to atmosphere, it's illegal.

In California venting to atmosphere is illegal, but what I read says it may be legal if the OEM BOV already vents to atmosphere. But re-routing to vent to atmosphere is illegal in CA. In Australia it's always illegal though. It makes sense in a way, since many default to open when the car is off and theoretically hydrocarbons can escape (and of course the noise). This is the reason that they have that carbon filter in the intake.

Many aftermarket mods are "for offroad use only". This doesn't make that statement any more correct.
Please do not give misleading or incorrect advice, as it pollutes threads that could be a resource. You've done it twice in this thread...

1) I haven't at all. I merely said (if you'll go back and read) that the 13 is designed a certain way.

I have yet to see you add anything to this conversation so please keep quiet until you have something positive to add.... I am at least starting a conversation and getting ideas going. I never stated that the 10 BOV was the same as the 13. And if a BOV is for offroad use only and is illegal- it's illegal to use on the road. Be that as it may, you gotta get caught. In certain states and in certain countries like Australia, a (non-OEM) BOV is illegal (if it is rerouted to the intake it's a BPV, by the way and BPV's are fine).

Anyway, it looks like the 2010 BOV already vents to atmosphere from the videos I watched on it. So it looks like you'll have to get an aftermarket BOV to hear that sound. I suggest spending the extra to get a good BOV, since it protects your turbo. Look up some videos on youtube for installation and reviews.

I wonder if the 13+ BOV (which makes a nice sound) could be used on a 2010? I don't know the answer, but when someone with a 13+ upgrades, I'm sure you could get their BOV for cheap if it could be used in a 10. But that'd be a long shot since it'd have to actually fit and the bolts line up.

I told him to get an intake for sound AND fixed your foibles. That's something.

Yet you posted how to deal with the issue from a '13+ perspective without checking...

This is OE, therefore the rest is moot.

...or an intake...
The silencer delete mod would work as well.

This would be pointless as
1. Won't fit
2. Can't recirc, thus moving it to "illegal" status as it's now a modified setup

Running off the OE solenoid; Synapse or bust if you must upgrade, and it should be moved to the cold side. The cheap solutions are above; silencer delete (Sub 20 bucks) or aftermarket intake.
