That is a very old article (Nov 6,2008).

The headline says "Hyundai Genesis sedan to get fuel-saving 8-speed transmission in 2010."

The body of the article says: "the Korean automaker is getting ready to add a fuel-saving 8-speed transmission after 2010." No word on how far after.

I didnt check the date. I just thought it was an interesting article about 8 speed trans.

That has been discussed in some other threads. The 8-speed is a Hyundai designed and built tranny.

I would take a 6-speed Aisin or ZF any day over newly designed Hyundai 8-speed.

There isn't a pattern. But it will show between now and the next 3 months, they will be pretty tight lipped about it as to try and flush the 09 out of inventory.
