  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

As a retiree, my Genesis is used only for leisure & very little : 8900 miles in 3.4 years. Car is kept in my home garage in a very mild southern climate (Houston area). Regular maintenance is performed annually at the dealership.
On the driver's side paint chipping can be seen covering an approximately 8" long area on the body frame edge just below the door. It is clearly visible with the door closed. I am always careful entering & exiting the vehicle & am the sole driver. (No way could my sneakers be hitting the chipping area!)
Does Hyundai or the dealership have any responsibility to repair this?
Never had this problem in any other less expensive vehicles I have owner over many years. (My trade in was a Sonata in pristine shape)

Was the car purchased new??
Does the 2011 model have plastic rocker panels like my 2013 has??
Driving on gravel roads might have kicked up stones that acted like a sandblaster.???

Panel beneath door where edge chipping is occurring doesn't respond to a magnet, so must be plastic.
Purchased new from dealer, 80 miles on odometer.
Only driven on local clean paved streets & freeways.
