2011 4.6 - Possible oil consumption?

Hello,

Any issues with the 2011 4.6 with oil consumption issues?

I just checked my oil after 3000 miles.. and it is below the two bumps... down where the stick curls. about how far down is this?

Checked after a short drive...let car cool for an hour or so...relatively level ground (my driveway is relatively level at the top).

Is this considered an excessive amount in 3000 miles?

I had a 2008 Honda that I dumped because of oil issues... had the pistons, rings, timing chain... replaced under extended warranty... got rid of it soon afterwards.

I have a question on the amount of oil in a 2012 5.0. I took it to the dealer for an oil change and the invoice said they put in 6qts but the book says it takes 7.61? The dipstick says full.

^The manual is correct by saying 7.6 qts.
My first oil change after just over 1k miles on the clock. I brought in my own 8 quarts (Mobil1) and the Hyundai mechanic who performed the oil change returned ~1/2 qt along with other 7 emptied bottles and the dip stick is right on the mark.
2k miles later the oil level is still right on where it's supposed to be.

Some people had oil consumption problems with early 2012 5.0 GDI engines, but I have not heard on any on the 2011 4.6.

Most newer engines do not require additional oil in between oil changes, or at most 1 quart. So if you using more than 1 quart in 3000 miles that is unusual. I would make sure your oil level is back up to at most 1 qt down before you drive it, and then check on a regular basis and keep it full as possible without over-filling.
