So 5 days ago I bought a used 2011 genesis. Tonight while I was driving my brake pedal lost almost all of it's resistance and slowly stops the car when I get it much closer to the floor. I have no lights on my dash saying there is a problem or anything in the car letting me know something is wrong. I brought it home immediately and checked the forums. Found lot of things about this problem. I tried to check for leaks in the brakes but it's raining and everything is wet. I saw that they had a recall out on my car for a braking problem but when I got a PPI 5 days ago the dealership said no recalls were out on the vehicle? Anyone have this problem before. All of the other threads don't come to a conclusion but suggest the ABS control module is bad or the master cylinder is bad. I'm assuming if the ABS control module is bad then my dash would be lit up with the ABS light.
If I press hard fast then the brakes work like normal but if I slowly come to a stop then it forces the pedal all the way to the ground gradually. When the car is off and I try and start it, the brakes have normal resistance. Can't really determine if the ABS control module is replaced because of the recall or I'm going to be paying a massive repair bill 5 days after buying. I'm going to bring it to the shop tomorrow to get it looked at. Just wondering if anyone has this problem and how was it resolved?
EDIT: It has 57k miles if that makes a difference
