  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
Equus (2011-2016)
I currently drive a 2011 Hyundai Equus with the 4.6L & ~180,000 miles on it. Recently the engine started to make a knocking sound, and after taking into the mechanic he said that a rod was thrown, and the engine needs to be replaced. Getting rid of the car is not an option, as I currently owe too much on it. I've been shopping around to buy a 4.6L Tau online, and they look to be around $1500-2000. My question is this replacement worth it, and what should I be looking for when buying a new engine?

some engines I have found are linked below, thank you!
