2011 Genesis Sedan 4.6L - Navigation System and USB won't start up

I have a 2011 Genesis and when I depress the center control, the Navigation System doesn't appear on my screen anymore. This also means I can't change the radio station, input new directions for travel, etc. I also can't use the USB in the center console, so I'm currently limited to either CDs or the radio. Can someone tell me the name and the replacement part numbers needed to fix this problem? I'm told that it's probably a small part on the other side of the center console, and they're reasonably easy to replace (if you have patience).

Gosh, I'd probably ask whoever that is telling you it's a small part behind the center console.

Usually when something goes wrong with the head unit, the fix is to replace the whole thing. If you want to start replacing components you're going to need to find an expert on those units.

Based on the OPs description, it sounds as if the "Center Control Panel" DIS knob and buttons are not functioning, but the head unit is still operational and presumably stuck on the boot-up-nag-screen.

Yes it might be a simple fuse or connector, but it could be more. The "Center Control Panel" (DIS knobs & buttons) are known to fail, particularly after having a sticky soda or similar dumped on them.

As TinsleyC suggested, I do not recommend firing the parts cannon without doing a proper diagnosis. These parts are not cheap.

Thanks to all responders for your input! I agree that this might not be the most effective way if using all factory new parts, but I was looking at used parts on the web, where they were showing Front Console Assembly parts for as low as $50. The Hyundai dealer that I originally went to told me he could fix my problem for $1,200.00, but didn't break down the part cost. Looking at alternative solutions, this job might be a Saturday afternoon DIY project where I can gamble on my labor hours, and possibly even return the product to the used part reseller if it doesn't work. I was looking for the actual part number to verify that I was replacing the right thing, as well as determine what a factory-new part would cost. It's always a gamble when you source used parts... Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Personally, I just don't trust myself taking apart the dash or trying to pull a radio in a modern car. If end up gouging the plastic or leather. Plus it's so tight in there with all the wires. I'll just have to wish you good luck!
