If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone else looking for one of these? Availability looks to be non-existent yet (at least in Northeast). Would welcome info on where a black one is in stock.

Have you checked with a dealer? - Tell them you're ready to buy and let them do the 'legwork' for you.

Yes, I have a price from a local dealer and they are looking to do a swap...but are only going out a certain radius (from NJ). I was using Hyundai Circle search function to see if I can find one farther out but no luck. Was just curious to find anyone else also looking for one of these.

Here's the deal. By the time you add the tech Package to the V6 Genesis, you are only 1-2 grand away from the V8 which has the tech Package std. This is why the vehicle may be so hard to find. If someone is going to add the tech package, they'll probably be looking at the V8.

Might as well get the V8. You'll be glad you did.

And the car will be much easier to find.

+1
And if you really don't want the V8 for insurance or gas reasons, then you may have to order one if you can't wait to find one.

If you are in NJ call the Eastern Region in Monroe Township, NJ. Tell them about your problem and let them help you: 1-609-395-7001

Ask for Customer Relations. They can look ahead and see what is incoming through the Port of Balimore. They can do alot if you make friends.

V8s are much harder to find than the V6 due to CAFE requirments.

Thanks for the advice. I've had a 3.8 for a two year lease and now want another one. Great car.

It sounds like you know a lot about the Hyundai system so I'll ask you a question if I may.

I just bought a new 2011 V8 over the weekend. Wanted a Sapphire Blue but nothing in MA. So had to order it from a local dealer. I had previously spoken to NJ customer service - nice person there - had hoped that he could identify a car on a boat or on the wharf that they could ship to the dealer. But no luck.

Is there a way to expedite the quoted 6 week shipping time by obtaining one that is already here or on the boat?

Many thanks

Hi,pjkad...I also live in NJ. I have a 2010 v/6 3.8 with premium and tech package...I leased it for $520 a month for 3 years,12k per year...really enjoy the car...never considered a 2 year lease....may I ask what a 2 year lease ran you?...Hope you find another v/6 3.8 the best of luck....I leased mine in paramus,nj.

I was out on the motorcycle last Sunday(best day to look at cars, no preditor salesmen) and stopped at one of the local dealers. This dealer who had no 2010 V8s ever in stock had only 2011 V8s and no V6s. Maybe it was an early shipment of 2011 cars and a big run of V8 early and then they will concentrate on the V6 models since they are sold in all markets and the V8 is only North America and the Middle east. I personally would get the V8 for the small price and mileage penalty. It makes a very good road car.

The issue is one that is quite irrantional. Hyundai Korea makes what they want and it does not equate with current demand in the United States regarding model, options and color. You can tell me its nuts and I won't disagree, but its the fact. BTW other foreign manufacturers do the same so don't jump solely on top of Hyundai.

So if a car is scarce, not being shipped or available at dealers only as a demo, as my chocie was, there is little you can do except make friends with Region and see what they can do for you. Yelling and screaming will not help and special ordering I have been told several times is not allowed. Hyundai USA has to play by the Korean playbook.

I got my car after a situation arose that gave me an advanatge. Also learn to speak Hyundai's language; there are many terms that they use. In your conversations with dealer and/or region listen for them and play them back. For example a 2010 Genny in Pearl black, saddle inetrior, fully loaded is B0462 my screen name. They are surprised when you use their inside language.

If car is not available on on the boat I do not know of any way to expedite.

Good hunting
Dave

I agree, you have to know what is available and why.

When I bought my 2011 Genesis, my dealer advised me that only certain colors were available to the Midwest area that we are in. I was leaning towards either the Sterling Blue, Cabernet Red or Titanium Gray - and I really could not make up my mind, as I had seen only the gray. When the dealer told me that the Red or Blue would probably take months to come by and he could get gray, black, white or silver ---- that made up my mind that I should go with gray.

It makes sense to me that Hyundai would not make up a lot of V6 with Tech Package as that puts you so close to the V8 in price.....My salesman admitted to me that he never sold a V6 with Tech as the prospective buyer always went for the V8, because of the small price difference. The V8 is very available in my area.

If you want the V6 with Tech, order one.....but be prepared to wait a long time and you might be informed down the road that your order cannot be filled at all.

Here in Bay Area, I am checking the availability thru Hyundai Circle for the past couple of weeks no '11 V6 with tech in stock.

If i order can I still get circle pricing?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
My dealer found one...200 miles away...and is swapping for it. I should have it next week. So apparently they do exist.
The pricing I got is still agressive even though they have to eat the cost of the swap process. They said the Equus allocations are directly based on Genesis sales and they want to move Genesis inventory right now.

Dave and Cut

Thanks for the advice. I'll follow through.

I looked at the list price of a 2011 V6 + Tech and the V8, the V8 comes with everything. They are less than 3k apart. My question is what are the differences in the 7" or 8" Nav's other than size? They list them as DVD based Nav's now is that true? I know you get 17 speakers instead of 14. I've driven both V6 and V8 but 2010's. I have not seen either car in a 2011 yet so would like to know the scoop.
Thanks...
