  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anyone know when the 2011's are due out? I'm looking to buy one in the early spring. Just wondering if i should wait till the 2011's are out. Maybe some of the issues will have been ironed out.

No, I'm looking to buy a Coupe. I just wondered that since the 2010 was just released in the spring of 09, when would the next model year be released. I'm hearing about a lot of clutch and gear box issues and thought maybe they would have these issues fixed for the 2011 model year.

Probably will have to wait a while.

W/ the introduction of a new model early in the year, the next year model usually holds to the traditional timetable so probably will see the 2011 sometime during the Fall of 2010.

This is correct. You will have to wait at least a year.

Yeah they will probably drop out by next summer 2010 for the 2011 models.

I got to say...I might do this...

2010 or 2011 Genesis Coupe 2.0 track with Navigation
+
2011 Nissan 370Z Roadster touring with sport package and Navigation.

Nissans are over-priced, quite honestly. I'm not saying it to be biased. I was looking at the Altima Coupes and kind of had a jaw-drop moment when I saw what they wanted for them and that they weren't coming off in price. For an 09 leftover, no less.

ill second that. i too was looking at a altima coupe and the man trying to sell me the car didnt come down on the price at all, and didnt bother to call after telling him i was very interested. i found it extremely hilarious when he said to me, "come on man, its a nissan, what other car are youy looking to get at this price." what a fool hahhhaha. im thoroughly satisfied with my Gen Coupe, and as a matter in fact im super glad i didnt get the altima coupe.

The altima coupe is a girls car...and you guys are right it is no where in the league of the Genny coupe.

But the 370Z at 30K base is a good car for the money. Its a real sports car.

What nissan needs to do is bring back the Silva!

The 2.0 Genny coupe is the Silva for the current day!

I just saw another 2.0 Track and it was so awesome!

Overpriced? Probably.....The one thing Nissan and the altima has going for it is a proven, well documented beast of a v6. One of the best 10 engines in the world. You are not going to get that with the Genesis or Hyundai for that matter.....Not yet.....But, it's commin.

When buying a car, you need to shop around.....for every dealer that would not come down...there are 10 that will.

When the Altima SE came out in 01 as an 02 Model I shopped here locally and no one would come off sticker....and they were all offering me under KBB trade in value.

I went to VA.......Got High Edmunds RETAIL on my trade, and paid 300.00 over invoice for my loaded SE.

My calculations were it saved me about 5,000.00 to shop around.

One think I will say for Nissan....they use some Sub-par materials building their cars. Can't say that for the Genesis cars I have seen/

Yes i definitely agree. Nissan parts and nissans are getting off the edge when it comes to price. That's why sometimes I have no choice but to turn to aftermarket parts instead just to save.

Issues? What issues? I'm used to Acura/Lexus and now a Volvo S60R. I am thinking of going to something more sporty and money is tight in this economy. I am about to spring for a Certified Pre-Owned Infinity G37S coupe but I had remembered reading early Genesis review earlier this year. Just read a bunch and WOW, very impressive right ups. Things like the steering feel is as good or better than an M3?

Regarding model year I always said I would avoid first year models, but I can't wait until next fall. Are newer 2010's coming out of the plant with some of the 'issues' fixed or do you need to take it to the service dept and have them go down the list of TSB's. I'd wonder where the cut-off is where they start fixing stuff and how to determine if the car was made after the cut-off. I hate the drive off the lot depreciation on brand new cars though and I see there are already some used ones to be had.

What a good bang for the buck though. But will everyone and their Mom be driving one by this time next year because they are so cheap? Strangely I've seen very very few of them so far.
