  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Still looking for my wife and I a Genesis. It will be her car more than mine. I drive a 1990 Chevy Silverado:) She will drive it to work everyday and use it for business and the company pays her a certain percentage for the mileage so the miles will add up fairly quick thus needing to find a low miler. Since coming here a short time ago to find out as much info from current owners about these cars my attention has been focused mostly on the 4.6 V8 2011 cars with 6 speed trans. I've heard mostly good stuff about these. Their is one of these what I call gold with light interior about 2 hours away. Its a 2 owner with under 60k. I went and look at it but did not drive it(dealer had closed) but it was very nice. But yesterday ran across a 2012 and 2013 both with 3.8's and both are only a short distance from my house. The 2012 is a 1 owner personal lease car. My wife drove it and likes it but has way more than double the miles that I was considering at about 83K. It silver with the light interior which she really likes. The 2013 has only 48K(more to my liken) and is a 1 owner personal lease also and was actually sold as a CPO at a Hyundai dealer about a year ago per Carfax. Its silver also but has black interior. Im planning on test driving this car today and I'll let you know what I think. Wouldn't mind test driving the 2011 4.6 but none are close by and not crazy about another 2 hour drive. Would that be a mistake to purchase a 3.8 with a 8 speed before driving the 4.6 with a 6 speed. Both these cars are priced almost identical and both have been on the lots for a while. So probably good get a pretty good deal on either one. Any comments or opinions would be helpful. Thanks!

My preference would be the 2013 3.8 with the 8 speed trans. mainly because driving for business, the lowest mileage car you can find should presumably deliver the best gas mileage and lowest maintenance costs.

I agree with the above post. I love my 2012 3.8 Premium. I had no issues since I bought it in 2014. I have now 110k miles on it. IT IS A GREAT CAR!!!
I drove to Augusta GA to the Hynudai Dealer there. They had the color and options I wanted. The next best place to me if you dont mind driving is Jim Ellis in Atlanta GA. They ALWAYS have a 1gen Genesis.

Unless something changes I'm planning on taking about a 2 hour drive tomorrow to check out a CPO 2013 3.8 red pearl Tech pkg car with less than 40K on the clock.

The color is CABERNET RED PEARL. Good luck!
