  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2012 3.8 Tops out at 130, anyonen else?

ive gotten my 2010 3.8 up to 140 no problem without hitting the limiter. could've gone faster but decided to slow down a little :)

would you believe there are places where you can go 130 and not break the law?

AFAIK the only state in the CONUS without a posted speed limit are some portions of major highways in NV although I assume the feds have cleaned that up by now.

At the time NV had a speed limit that was designated as "prudent" (although the word may have been different back then) which meant the cop could write you up for any speed he/she deemed reckless or irresponsible or unsafe for conditions.

Several years ago I was up in the Death Valley area on a highway where the speed limit drops from 75 to 35 within 1/4 mile of entering a very small town. You got exactly one warning about the change in speed. The cop on duty was writing tickets as fast as his little hands could go.

Even in remote areas like West Texas there is enough traffic on the Interstates where speeds in excess of 80-85 would be very unsafe (not to mention people falling asleep at that speed or having a tire blow out). Last trip across I-10 east of El Paso I came across parts of four people scattered all over the desert as a result of someone going way too fast and rolling their car multiple times ejecting the carload.
