  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone know how to test the a/c clutch? System has freon but clutch not turning pulley. Could it be caused by bad cooling fan?

I don't see how the fan would affect it. Check the connector to see it it is getting power. If yes, could be the clutch. If no, fuse or relay. Could be a bad pressure switch too, thinking you have low charge.

Checked gas pressure and its good. Found the TXV valve and there are 3 wires. Don't know what to "jump" to engage clutch. Anyone know?

system pressure switch that engages the compressor clutch could be bad or the connection to the switch could be bad.

Don't try to jumper it at the txv valve you can damage the connector, jumper it at the ac clutch relay in the fuse box. If you have power at the clutch connector but it hasn't grabbed, give it a gentle whack with a hammer handle. If it grabs then your clutch plate is spaced too far away from the magnet (Volvo has a big problem with this) if it doesn't grab but you have power running to it then your magnet is dead. if magnet is dead then it will have to be replaced. If the plate just needs adjustment look up a/c clutch zip tie hack. it will get you through for a couple months until you can get it replaced.
