  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2012 Equus

Left sit for more than 8 hours and it definitely did not lower itself.

Good to know. Thanks again. Would you say the difference between "normal" and "high" setting on the vehicle's height control is about 1-2 inches? If it's less than 1 inch, I don't think you'd notice it just by looking at the outside of the car (I'm assuming this is how you found out). I read the owner's manual but it says nothing about the difference in height between these 2 modes. I also read the Equus online service manual on air suspension - same result.

Measuring the bottom of the rocker panel right in front of the rear wheel, it is 8 inches in the low position and 9.5 inches in the high position. I am not sure but I believe even in the low position it is higher than my former Genesis.

Thank you so much for your effort.

Re: 2013 Equus

Does anyone know of any special precautions that should be taken when raising up the Equus to rotate or change a tire. The last time I tried, I noticed that when lowering the vehicle to the floor, I almost couldn't remove the floor jack. The vehicle was just that low.

I don't have an answer but would like to ask others the same question. I checked the owner's manual and Hyundai's website for the ground clearance info but got nowhere. The owner's manual also mentions nothing about the jacking point for floor jacks. With a floor jack, one can raise both front wheels or both rear wheels at the same time. If you use the jack that comes with the car, you place the jack at the pinch weld just behind the front wheel or in front of the rear wheel, you can only raise 1 wheel at a time. So what kind of jack did you (kayroe) use? You said floor jack, where did you put the jack's saddle under to raise the car? I wonder if your car's air suspension was in the high setting when you first set up the jack, but later lowered to the normal setting which is about 1.5 inch lower. From what I read here, 2013 Equus does not lower itself after engine shutdown but earlier models do.

I used two Lorin 2 1/4 ton Black Jack Home garage jacks. I have recently found out from trail and error that you must set the vehicle to the high position, before lifting it. I also use pinch point adapters on both jacks. Once I completed my lateral tire rotation and lowered the vehicle, it remained in the high position until I started up the Equus and changed the height setting.
