So, my Genesis keeps stalling on me and I can't figure out why! Recently, I had my alternator replaced. A couple of days after the replacement, I was at a stop light when the car stalled on me. Started right back up. No warning lights, indicators, nothing I could notice that was wrong. A few days later, the car stalled again. This time, it seemed that the car did not want to turn over. When it did, the idle was running high, around 1000 rpm. Almost felt like the car was doing this in order to not stall again. Still, no warning lights, indicators... wtf! When I cycled the car off and then back on, it started up normal and back to the normal idle. This time decided to take it back to the shop. They checked the battery and alternator, and nothing. They had the car running for about 45 minutes and it never stalled. Everything they could check they said checked out fine.
Well, every so often my Genesis will stall. Totally random. Never any warning lights that I could notice before stalling, but after stalling, the oil and battery warning indicators are on the dash, but they go away after start up. Never loses power. Sometimes the car starts right back up with no issues, sometimes it has trouble starting and then it will keep a high idle, around 1000 rpm, until I turn it off. Only once has it started from cold into the high idle. The car runs great still, besides this, and I never had any problems before having to replace the alternator. Is it possible that something internally could have been damaged when the alternator failed? Any help or ideas as to why this is happening would be greatly appreciated.
