2012 Genesis 5.0 Fuel Filter

Did Hyundai change the design of their fuel filter from double to single fuel regulators in the bottom?

I just removed and replaced my fuel filter in my 2012 5.0 and the fuel filter design has only one regular port instead of two that were on the original.



The car runs fine after the change. I’m thinking it was a design change.

Mild surging when cold. Replacing the filter did not solve the issue and the dealer says replacing the fuel filter is no longer recommend by Hyundai. The surging is apparently normal and throttle position controlled when the engine has not reached operating temperature.
I believe that no filter lasts a lifetime unless lifetime is 100k miles. I can at least rest knowing that the filter is not impacted drivability.

Yes, Hyundai OEM part, just used part for 3.8 and not 5.0. It still drives like new.

Relatively easy with a nearly empty tank. It’s accessed from under the rear seat. Read the repair manual before attempting any repairs.

I did the filter on my 4.6, if you're mechanically inclined it's a fairly simple job.

That just doesn't sound right. Maybe that has something to do with the port differences.

i was CV provided five pages from the manual. They provided the clear direction to remove and replace.
