  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Bought this car a few months back with a rebuildable flood tittle. Everything was working fine until the driver seat stopped working one day. Everything else works fine.

I am selling to buy a minivan since I now have another baby on the way.

If you are looking at a Hyundai Genesis 5.0 you won't find one cheaper. Car runs and drives as it should.

I would be happy to drive the car anywhere a potential buyer would like to have it inspected at your expense.

Car has two minor cosmetic issues.
1.) a scratch on the driver side headlight. I tried to get it in the pictures, but it's not that big.
2.) Rear bumper has two marks on the paint, but I was unable to capture them in any picture. Depending on the angle you look at the bumper you may see it. I myself did not notice until someone pointed it out.

Car is located near Tampa, Fl.

I have the rebuilt tittle in hand. The car is currently registered in my name.

Feel free to ask questions, this is not my a business for me, so I may have missed things a buyer is looking for.

I will work with your shipping company as needed and can deliver the car near Tampa, Florida. All shipping costs will be paid for by the buyer.

*added this section to describe deer accident on 10/24*
Just realized I did not add this. For full disclosure, This vehicle was involved in hitting a deer on Thursday Oct 24 on my way home from and embarrassing Thrusday night football showing by the Bucs in Tampa.
They got whooped by Newton and the Panthers, dear god, please allow me to stay on track and sell this car...

The deer took out the glass on the driver side headlight and bent the front fender enough that it was worth replacing. No real damage was done and the deer only skimmed the car. Everything is now fixed as you see it in the pictures.

Cheers!

So, does this car have any warranty?

Also, those are not the R-Spec wheels. Those are the standard V8 wheels. (unless they changed something)

R-Spec wheels are 19" and those look to be 18".

I hope I'm wrong for your sake.

Definitely not R-Spec wheels. However, it does seem to have an R-Spec badge on rear trunk, and has the R-Spec leather steering wheel (Regular V8 with Tech Package has wood-trim/plastic steering wheel).

Telematics is clean and it looks like the MPG rebate was not taken by the original owner.

was the flood fresh water or salt water? Very important regarding future rust of electrical motors and of course door bottoms etc.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Damn, your right in my neck of the woods. But yeah, doesnt look like an rspec

I believe the flood to have been from Sandy. Pure speculation on my part since the Nav still had a "home" address programed and it was the New York, New Jersey area.

Because the title is rebuilt, I do not believe any Hyundai warranty would be valid. Any recalls would still apply.

They are not the R-spec wheels. Can someone educate me on 5.0 sedan non-rspec? I have a carfax that calls this vin an R-spec. I am no Genesis guru.

Is the only difference the wheels? I could not find any difference. The carfax I have calls this VIN an R-spec.

The steering wheel does have leather. I've looked, but could not confirm the differences between 5.0 "standard" vs R-spec.

Thanks! Does this mean there is an option to get an MPG rebate?

I do not know for sure. I bought with a rebuilt title. I believe this car was in jersey / New York area, so maybe Sandy? The NAV had a "home" address programed that was in that area. That is all I know.

Again, any education on R-spec vs non R-spec on the 5.0 would be appreciated. Is it just the wheels?

2012 5.0 non-R-Spec (no longer available) is similar to R-Spec. Here is partial list of differences:
  • Wheels and tires (19" on R-Spec)
  • Steering Wheel (R-Spec all leather. The 5.0 has wood-trim plastic on top, and leather on bottom)
  • Interior plastic trim (darker on R-Spec)
  • Suspension - R-Spec tighter
  • Transmission shift points - same tranny, but different tuning
Since the car in the pic has the R-Spec badge on trunk, R-Spec steering wheel, "appears" to have R-Spec interior, and R-Spec VIN, most likely someone just swapped the wheels/tires to make a few bucks.

Thank you!
I will take a better picture of the steering wheel tomorrow. It does have some wood trim on it, but is mostly leather. As for the rest of the stuff, I have no clue. I'll take picture of the carfax too.

Flood from Sandy most likely is salt water surge. Not good.
I think the rebuilt title says what it needs to. Any flood is a risk hence the price break.

The carfax below... To anyone who is actually interested in the car, I'm willing to work with any inspectors you wish to and make me an offer. I'm also willing to trade + cash for the right Toyota Sienna.

P.S. Not sure if the deer incident will or will not show up on a current carfax. New price, 24K!
