  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I recently purchased a 2012 Genesis sedan (3.8L ) and want to upgrade my tires from some no-name tires it came with. I live in the south so snow/ice aren't factors, but I do get a substantial amount of rain. What are everyone's recommendations for good traction and low cabin noise?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I'm shopping for replacement tires as well. I have the Michelin P235X50X18R that have list prices at Costco at $178 @ but, I would like wider tires and wanted to find if I could go to 245 or 255?? not sure let me know if you find out

What is your wheel size (17" or 18")?

I would recommend this tire:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=Premier+A/S
"The Premier A/S delivers long wear and a smooth ride while also emphasizing wet traction -- not just when new, but through the tire's life when wet performance typically falls off vs. a new tire."

If you are a Costco member, they usually offer the $70 discount on Michelin tires every couple of months (they alternate the discount between Michelin and Bridgestone), and they have free nitrogen, and free tire rotations every 7500 miles.

I have the BEST mileage out of the Conti (not Z rated but H). SO QUIET. I got a steal on a set. someone purchased them, rode on them for 1 day and brought them back. Got full set installed $400.00. NO LIE

Now I have Falken. They ride NICE. $520 installed at Discount Tire Direct with road hazard.

I bought my car used in oct and the Hyundai dealership had put new tires on it.
They are Pirelli Cinturato p7. They aren't very flashy and I'm sure there are tires with better stats but fine for what I do. They are designed for comfort and long wear from what I read on them.
I have 18s too.
They ride quite and seem to handle well. IDT they are the all season but the "summer" tires.
I think they are inexpensive as well.

oof, as much of a michelin whore as I am, that is still one haaaaarrrrrd tire. now me personally, my cold rec would be the pilot A/S, still pretty hard, but seems like it was made for these cars, madre has them on her 1g i have them on my 2g. jm2c tho

edit - if cost would not be a consideration, then super sports, Ive had three gens of them on the ol volvo, far stickier than the 300utqg would suggest, but folks, thats a 15k mile tire, AT BEST, all comes down to budget, but you can't go wrong with a premium lvl mich
